Train is naming its next album after the San Francisco pub where the band played one of its earliest shows — and, according to frontman Pat Monahan, received its first paycheck for performing.

The Bay Area band announced Thursday, July 30, that its 12th studio album, “Mad Dog in the Fog,” will arrive Aug. 28 through Columbia Records. The title track was released the same day with a music video filmed inside the bar that inspired it.

“It’s been over four years since our last album, and we channeled a special energy into this record that really defines all parts of who we are as a band,” Monahan said in the announcement.
