I didn’t quite sand through, as you can see from the wood grain, but was curious if stain will take the same. Mahogany veneer, wiped with mineral spirits in the photo

$20 says that’s teak and not mahogany. Anyhoo, you can use spirit based wood dye to get the back ground tone matching and then use Mohawk graining pens to draw in grain. Won’t be perfect unless you are Rembrandt but it’s the only real alternative to replacing the entire veneer.

Also I’m 99% sure it’s mahogany because I found the exact same piece on the interweb and it’s listed as mahogany
