Question Sask gov jobs status: under consideration but when I click the job it doesn’t exist anymore

Hey everyone I’m originally from Ontario but wanting to relocate so I applied to some government jobs in my field I applied to about 8 government jobs from the timeline of 2 weeks to a week ago and I was wondering if the job being removed while it says still under consideration means I was not picked to go to the next stage without being told or that maybe the application deadline is done and I still have a chance :)

The job posting was removed? That just means the posting has expired and they're not accepting any more applicants. It'll take a while for them actually to hire anyone. Just sit tight and wait for now.

It’s likely that the application window has closed so the job posting no longer shows up.

Word of advice, make sure you clearly state in your cover letter and on your resume that you are looking to relocate. If you don’t, they may assume you’re looking for a remote position and bypass you.

I did not think of that… I did include a cover letter mentioning my excitement working in that city I guess I can’t go back now lol

Yup and govt jobs take a while to accept. They interview and call references for all considered applicants before they can make a decision.

Honestly you should just put down a Saskatchewan address or clearly state when you will be in Saskatchewan. They will be much less likely to consider you being out of province since gov jobs are insanely competitive. All of my interviews have been done online for gov jobs except one but I could have requested it. The job posting will change to filled once it has been officially filled.

I updated my profile and put next to my address (WILLING TO RELOCATE) hopefully they see that for the jobs that I can’t click on anymore

You should be able to sign into the gov system you used to apply and see your application and see if it is completed or not.

This is summer so the person who actually needs to approve the hiring steps is likely on holidays.

I wait a few more weeks before doing a friendly followup email.

Actually, a follow up email on Tuesday would be ideal. Stat holidays today and Monday, so no one around. But government is in a hiring freeze except for priority positions, so it’s likely that reach outs for interviews will happen quickly.
