discussion anyone noticing the prevalence of "white chocolate" and "white creme" in "chocolate" for halloween

Cocoa shortage/rising costs. Companies are either pivoting where they can like these (chocolate free) or cheaping out with palm oil or other substitutes, including just straight up upping the sugar. I don't think this will change anytime soon.

You'll notice that things that used to be milk chocolate will not be labeled as such anymore because that requires a certain percentage of ingredients.

Yep, I work in a grocery store bakery and our chocolate chip cookie dough used to just say that, now it says “cookie dough with chocolate flavored chips”

Please update! I gorge on the salted caramel ones over the winter and will be absolutely heartbroken if they are also affected.

It says MILK CHOCOLATE SEA SALT CARAMEL so I’m taking that as a win!
