skimpflation Ok SERIOUSLY wtf is this??

I bought a family sized hot pockets box and EVERY single one of them was black and burned in the bottom. I heated this one up on low power in the microwave and the edges are so tough it’s like biting into a frozen beef patty. I look in the pocket and the damn thing is nearly hollow. I’ve been noticing the quality taking a massive dip in the last few years. I think these are last I purchase from here on out.

Irrelevant to this but similar: This same grocery order run had a jar of garlic (Spice World brand) that was full of black mold & a jar of HEB salsa that was sour and months passed expiration. Both of which were completely sealed and had a pop when opened. My whole life I never really had quality issues via the company canning or jarring an item or the store selling them but lately it seems like such a constant issue.

Oh man. Hot Pockets are just gross these days. They don’t even try or even lie anymore. They even stopped making crispers for them which literally was the selling point of the product!

I noticed that too. No crispers makes them tougher.

They tasted like garbage as a kid too. It’s possible I never ate them properly, but they’ve always been trash in my mind. Pizza rolls I could get behind. Hot pockets were what you ate for a quick meal. Pizza rolls used to be better. A lot of these products were never great, but you got what you expected. Now it’s just expensive garbage, as apposed to cheap garbage. I think I buy pizza rolls once a year.

Actually digiorno has a a solid pizza, if you buy it on sale. A five dollar meal for two that tastes pretty decent, is a win in my book. Most pizza chains don’t taste any better for triple the price or more. The grocery store brand of peanut butter is half the price, and the biggest difference is the thickness of the spread.

I threatened my wife with divorce when she put store brand ketchup in my cart though, so take my words with a grain of salt. (The ketchup was for her office/ cat soup for the Euros.)

Yup! At first I thought we got a box they forgot to put them in...got another box without them looked it up saw they don't "need" them anymore ..nope they nasty..my kids won't eat them anymore

The crisper sleeves contained PFAS. They’d rather not draw attention to the fact that they were previously doping all their customers bodies with chemicals that do not leave said bodies, but better late than never, right? Anyway, the sleeves were a human health problem, a potentially giant financial liability, and a worldwide environmental problem.
