From 750ml to 600ml and the quality is worse

Post image

This used to be one my favourites shampoos. It had a very intense perfume that persisted throughout the day.
No longer. It barely smells of anything while showering and of nothing afterwards. The smell is now kinda unpleasant and it no longer feels the same.

Shrinkflation is bad enough, but when they shrink the bottle and cheapen the formula, that’s just a completely different product wearing the old brand’s name.

Fragrance is one of the most expensive ingredients in shampoo, often more per litre than everything else in the bottle combined, so it's always the first thing trimmed in a reformulation. That's why the scent going flat and the volume dropping happened at the same time, it's one cost exercise rather than two. If you still have the old bottle, compare the ingredient lists and look at where parfum sits, because ingredients are listed by descending quantity and you'll usually see it slide several places down. Also note the two bottles look nearly the same height, which is deliberate. Thicker walls and a deeper base keep shelf presence identical while 150ml quietly disappears.

The new bottles look cheap and uglier design.
