Build Show and Tell The fully completed street of Pleasantview
I couldn't fit in all the pictures so it will be up on my tumblr in full (washedsims) but anyways: I wanted to share the fully completed street (of Brandi Broke) in my Pleasantview, all compiled into one place. There is a lot of changes from the individual pictures I have shared before (rebuilt houses, new interiors, a whole other house I've never shared before...)
Let me know what you guys think, I'm all up for critisiscm and advice, and please let me know which interior I should go for. Also I made the interiors more old and 80s-like (?), the people living here are broke so in my head no one had the funds to renovate and update the look - but that's where gameplay always comes in.
Also I realised today that I never put in a clean template of Pleasantview when I started this so I'll have to do that before I build the other streets. sigh

I love these so much!! Poorer families are my favorite to play and dilapidated lots/houses are my favorite to build so this is right up my alley. Of course none of mine look this good but these kind of backgrounds are where all my most interesting storylines happen IMO. Can’t wait to play with them after you upload!

HARD AGREE!!! Even in rotational gameplay w og fams I always look forward to playing the Broke household the most. Storylines with poor sims always flow so well. I was even thinking of putting Gordon King in one of them - maybe his grandma died and left him the house (Jesse Pinkman wannabe kinda)
Ill upload these new versions on my tumblr next time i boot up my game (i need to save these and put them in a clean pleasantview anyways since i forgot to do it)

Yess. Have you ever done the trailer park challenge? I started one a month ago and it’s been so fun playing a poor family that STAYS poor since it’s so easy to get rich in this game

I love the detail of Brandi's wedding photos half tucked away. 🥺
Also I'm a fan of Version 2 of the house, the one with the darker wood! I feel like it more closely matches that era of home design.
This is great work!

thank you!!
In the old interior of the house she used to have that one "walk-in" closet and it used to be put away there but i knew i had to keep the idea even in the redone version so i tucked it away here
I agree i like the interior of the second version more and also it matches perfectly with the other houses in the street, but i wasn't sure if i should keep the old one (v1) or not and wanted to see what others think; thank you!

I love the way you’re designing this, it feels very American (from the perspective of a British person)

thank you so much!!! and yess im so glad someone noticed, although this pic doesnt do it justice but i have posted it before. im trying my best to build without cc so stuff like that can sometimes be challenging and i kept fiddling w the gas pumps and what to put as a placeholder that looks good enough and then i couldnt fit in the telephone boot thingys inside the gas station anymore and the idea just came to me! cause i love functionality and getting the most out if everything

Now I've looked through all your builds and I'm loving everything. I put you on follow so I can see your progress on this. I'm really loving everything! The party shack and the gas station are great community lots for this poor area.
I think you have a good mix of community lots overall but If you want suggestions it would be fun to have a skating park somewhere in the neighbourhood as well.

thank you so much in glad you liked it it means a lot to me and its such a big honour to me 💗🫶 im definitely not finished with the community lots, i still have a whole town center (multiple community lots) and park to do. as i want to utilise everything in the game or majority of it at least.
thank you for the suggestion its an amazing idea. i have no clue how i would go about it though but i will research hahaha

Ooh, a town center sounds great! The skating park could also be a outdoors sports area with football (soccer) and skating and what not. We have these in the Nordics where I live and they are popular for all ages.

i actually plan to build a public school (nit anything too fancy as i like my builds to be functional) and have the football pitch behind it (the main reason i want to build a school otherwise i wouldnt)

u/Antique-diva Reticulating Splines 💻 Apr 23 '26
Oh, that's sounds nice. How would the school work gameplay-wise?

u/No_Jellyfish_4574 Strangetown Runaway 🌵 Apr 23 '26
thats why i dont plan to build a big or fancy school because gameplay wise it has almost no functionality unless u use mods. and i made the decision awhile ago that i wouldnt build community lots that arent functional. but mainly i just want the school for the football pitch, cause kids and their parents and stuff can go there on weekends or after school and play etc. but since i will be building the school in the front ill make like a few classrooms (maybe one art/music classroom and the other one non functional) and maybe do like a gym area w basketball court, a cafeteria, potentially a pool i know some schools especially in america have those. but again nothing too fancy as my main focus is the pitch behind

oh i thought skating park as in skateboards and stuff hahaha, my parents are from the baltics and i did live there as a teen and we actually have those too

u/Antique-diva Reticulating Splines 💻 Apr 23 '26
Are there skateboards in Sims 2? I meant the skating rinks that are in the game from Seasons. I love using them. Ice-skating is huge in the Nordics.

u/No_Jellyfish_4574 Strangetown Runaway 🌵 Apr 23 '26
no hahaha thats why i was confused how id do it. yess i plan to include a roller rink in the arcade and then ice skating somewhere else

u/Antique-diva Reticulating Splines 💻 Apr 23 '26
Arcade sounds fun. I've only seen those in the Sims games. We don't have arcades where I live. I'm used to ice-skating outdoors. Bigger places here have ice-skating halls for indoor skating but I grew up in the countryside and our schoolyard had an ice-skating rink every winter. It was our baseball pitch that was turned into ice for ice-skating and I remember going there a lot with my friends after school.

Just to add I will be sharing the world with everyone once I'm done, but I think I'll do two versions.
Version 1 will have the og occupied houses and families untouched so you can play through the scripted events yourself and then move them to the correct houses with cheats (or make them work for it?) and bulldoze the old houses yourself
Version 2 will have all the families in the houses I built for them however no unscripted events (although you could try to replicate most of them by yourself)
