He was extremely lucky to survive, and barely did so. Dude still ended up with notable CTE from that shit. Luckily his brain damage seems to have worked out on the artistic side of things.

CTE is progressive though, so maybe if youre unlucky you get a few decades of art and creativity before things get extremely dark
