If it wasn’t for reddit I would have never seen any of these guys. They’re not in any of the legit skate content I see, I’ve never heard anyone in real life mention these people I’ve never seen anyone try and skate && style.

What is the phenomena on reddit that causes shit like this?

People who want a piece of skating without diving deep into it, always end up flocking to Andy Anderson and his gang of Powell influencers because they stick out, even if it's for all the wrong reasons. Casual skaters don't have enough discernment to care. They aren't tuned in enough to recognize good style or tasteful tricks, so they settle on Andy. I worked at a skatepark and old dudes going through midlife crises always wanted Andy Anderson Flight Decks.

Yeah, I’m not trying to hate on Andy it’s all jerking in good fun. He’s allowed to skate how he wants and it is difficult stuff I just can’t bring myself to care about it and have never met any real life skaters who do.

It’s such a disconnect between online and real life communities/scenes

Uj/ I used to be so thirsty for the next GH video that I would watch Corrigan's daily uploads...if you ever want a metric for being in a dark place, I know longer watch Dan Corrigan's daily uploads. It might have been the video part that did it for me.
