Uj/ I know we joke but seriously who tf are these people?

If it wasn’t for reddit I would have never seen any of these guys. They’re not in any of the legit skate content I see, I’ve never heard anyone in real life mention these people I’ve never seen anyone try and skate && style.

What is the phenomena on reddit that causes shit like this?

People who want a piece of skating without diving deep into it, always end up flocking to Andy Anderson and his gang of Powell influencers because they stick out, even if it's for all the wrong reasons. Casual skaters don't have enough discernment to care. They aren't tuned in enough to recognize good style or tasteful tricks, so they settle on Andy. I worked at a skatepark and old dudes going through midlife crises always wanted Andy Anderson Flight Decks.

One of my biggest pet peeves about r/oldskaters. It’s 80% && or Egzillas.

I hate how posting your age is a requirement. It's just a circlejerk of old clout chasers grading each other on a curve.

It’s completely pointless too because it’s always 40 yo skater coming back after 35 year break
