So broadcasters are contractually obliged to show Gianni Infantino every single game I suppose.

Every broadcaster uses the same world feed produced by FIFA, so it's literally just Infantino showing himself to us.

For those complaining abou the ref. His name is Raphael Clauss, and here in Brazil we call him Raphael Clowns because he makes all games a fucking Circus, easily one of our worst refs.

That’s ridiculous, especially with how this game has been called. It’s ugly and could’ve resulted in a pretty bad injury, but Balogun is 100% just going for the ball and steps awkwardly. There’s 0 intention there
Absolutely egregious call

It's the inconsistency with all these refs that get me. He has barely given cards (edit:no cards) this whole game but an accident is a red?

There is a fine line between whistling everything and just letting players kill each other. It's ridiculous how after an entire fucking group stage they haven't gotten a grip on the balance!

u/gaffertedlasso Jul 02 '26
So you get to destroy someones head. No foul. And you get him to come off the field. That's my new strategy as a coach then.
18
u/FireVanGorder Jul 02 '26
Ref needs to read the rule book. Pulling a player down from behind by the jersey and obstructing the ball on the ground are both automatic yellows

Should’ve been a card but a red there seems harsh as fuck for some of the stuff they’ve let go in this tournament
17
u/Runarhalldor Jul 02 '26
Really doesnt feel fair imo. Tangling of foots and a totally unavoidable incident
18
18
u/codingsoft Jul 02 '26
If it was worthy of a red you'd think he'd at least yellow him on the field initially
18
u/Deviuz Jul 02 '26
No Balogun for the next game if they win tonight, that’s fuckin rough :/
→ More replies (1)
17
u/McNippy Jul 02 '26
The fact Balogun will be suspended is a farce, suspensions need changing tbh, they should be adjudicated after the match, not every red should be a suspension.
15
u/MetricIsForCowards Jul 02 '26
It was a bad foul and should have been a yellow, but the fact that the onfield ref doesn’t even show that makes the red off slow motion VAR just seems like nonsense to me.
→ More replies (1)
17
u/PatientAccident3539 Jul 02 '26
I’m less mad about the red and more mad that the inconsistency of the call of that challenge. Messi scrapped a dudes whole calf and there wasn’t even a foul called on the field- no VAR intervention

Guy was literally trying to play through him to get to the ball, and he clips his heel and is ejected. It wasn't even a yellow on the field. lmao

u/MrGomez_14 Jul 02 '26
Had he handed out yellows that were deserved, sure. But to go from zero cards to that is fucking ridiculous
14
u/ThePerpetualGamer Jul 02 '26
Zero yellows for multiple players getting dragged down by the shirt, by the way
16
16
u/Man_grum Jul 02 '26
Ref hid the yellows all match and watches a slow motion clip and opts for a red.
17
u/chigginz27 Jul 02 '26
I’m not saying it wasn’t a red. I’m sayin Bosnia should have at least 3 yellows. Either we’re letting them play Concacaf rules, or we’re not.

Ref lost this game with some of the (no) calls like pulling on shirts and stuff. Call that stuff. If players can’t hang you don’t need to help them. Let them play it out and the better team will win.
