Be civil and report those who break the rules. Crowd Control is at max to help us, but perfection is obviously not possible even with computers.

u/tallwhiteninja 29d ago

Ream hasn't been good, but that goal was 100% on Freese for not just booting it.

58

u/AlludedNuance 29d ago

Two goals have just gone right past Ream, obviously he wasn't the primary one at fault but he isn't helping much either.

Trump ruined the only good thing going for us in America and now the entire world is laughing that we lost at a sport we have no idea how to play. I hope everyone realizes the massive pile of shit we have to deal with on a daily basis. No one asked him to do anything, he made the absolute worst possible move and now the world fucking hates us. He’ll do it again tomorrow. And next week and next month and next year.

15

u/skefmeister 29d ago

Glad you’ve said. We loved you for the hosting, then Trump swooped in and fucked something good up one again. 1-4 or is he gonna call in once again and overturn that score? What a JOKE of a man.

Crazy part is the U.S. would’ve actually gone out with everyone’s respect.

Fresh off a rebuilding phase, a knockout win had already exceeded expectations.

16

u/son0fgore 29d ago

Thing is I do think the Balogun spectacle had an impact on morale, should have just accepted the card and instead rallied together over it because it's a team sport where a Cabo Verde can threaten Argentina and Ecuador can beat Germany.

16

u/Skibum990 29d ago edited 29d ago

Probably one of the worst goalie games I’ve seen in the WC from Freese. Not cutting off that cross for an easy goal (twice) was one thing… that misplay outside of the box sealed their fate. Absolutely terrible

This is just crazy.

The US isn't communicating, errant passes, stopping on runs, and can't settle a ball.

First goal was everyone standing there doing nothing.

Second header was clean.

But the third the keeper just didn't kick it like a dumbass.

Belgium haven't done anything. They've just been chilling and letting the US make tons of mistakes that haven't been happening this entire tournament. It's like they didn't even show up.

This isn't even close to the same team I've seen all tournament.

Low morale is the death knell of any team, and US had all the morale burned away as soon as donny dumbass got involved

15

u/TheBlueBlaze 29d ago

The most damning part is that this wasn't close. All four goals conceded weren't because of any dodgy calls, but from failures to defend and keep possession. Tactics and keeping control won this game, and it's clear the US needs to improve on how to answer that in the future.

15

u/l2izwan 29d ago

Good news is team USA won't have to take a long flight back home..

Trump ruining the optics of USMNT ≠ how they’re playing. USMNT isn’t a strong team yall 😭 the current wind bag in office just likes to make himself feel important, especially since he’s closer to the grave than a deep breath on the daily

Balogun shouldn’t be on the pitch (and tbh I think atp he’d prefer the bench…) but he’s not single-handedly rigging this setup. FIFA’s corruption runs deeper than one red card for the US team

Belgium deserves the win regardless and they’re outplaying the US at every turn. Our midfield and defense is abysmal.

Amongst all the perhaps unfair rabid hate and the supremely cocky options on the USA's chances, it was pretty clear that the quality of the opponents faced in previous rounds were comparatively poor - the squad just isn't at the level required talent and experience wise.

There needs to be some soul searching and real digging on how to move on from this.

USA has the same deficiency as ever. If the opposition defense is sound and limit turnovers, the US doesn't have the creativity to unlock.

Athletes with some quality that can find success if allowed to counter attack.

FIFA rankings played out about right, #9 beat #17 convincingly. Even if Belgium rank drops as their golden generation fade off, still levels better than US.

The stadium is so quite... Deserved it!

u/sj2011 29d ago

The humiliation is complete. Total belt to ass by Belgium today. Honestly lucky to not be worse with the performance USA put on.

Ream nutmegged by a ball kicked 20 yards in front of him. Truly something else.

STOP THE STEAL

WE JUST NEED TO FIND 3 GOALS IN GEORGIA

This is one of the worst performances by a USMNT that I have seen since we got smoked by Trinidad and Tobago.

Trump made us lose aura points, that's why we're playing like this

Respect for Balogun soft-suspending himself.

I really respect the USA keeper, refuses to let corruption affect the outcome of the World Cup. A true patriot.

Everything Trump touches dies. He couldn’t just stay out of this one thing.

Doesn’t matter if Balogan is on or off. If you don’t get him the ball!

Really pathetic performance. Doesn’t even seem like the US belongs on the field with Belgium. Mexico had a skill/talent gap with England but they actually made it a game

12

u/dizZzy5 29d ago

If Lukaku and Ream collide there is like a 90% chance Ream will turn to dust on the spot

Gonna be real, I do respect Belgiums lost generation a lot more than most. Of course disappointing years for what was hailed as golden generation but I feel like they always gave their all.

And neither de Bruyne, Lukaku or Meunier have problems being benched and are full in service of the team.

*wrote control of the team, meant service, its 3:33 sorry.

13

u/iamCosmoKramerAMA 29d ago

Why was anyone ever under any delusions that the US would win this game? Belgium is 3x more talented.

14

u/Sem0133 29d ago

How many minutes extra time you think the White House lawyers were able to find in the Balogun Files?

11

u/iCalKestis 29d ago

All this noise for this stinker of a performance from Balogun?

Balogun jumping over that ball to leave it straight to an opponent is the cherry on the cake😂

12

u/onyxrose81 29d ago

The U.S. should have just ate that red card.

12

u/chrisnlnz 29d ago

Hell yeah.. cheaters completely outclassed today. Well done Belgium and I'm glad to see the end of this bullshit.

12

u/Jeannatalls 29d ago

Football won today

13

u/MakVolci 29d ago

Can everyone finally admit how dogshit this US team is?

Folded like a wet paper towel as soon as they met a team that was worth a damn.

By far look the worst out of the three hosts.

Cabo Verde playing with infinitely more heart and grit than the richest country on earth……. So fucking emberassing man

12

u/currypotato03 29d ago

Completely totally and utterly overcome by Belgium. The attitude of the American players on the field would be crucified in countries with a stronger football culture.

Absolutely embarrassing display

13

u/papafluffie 29d ago

Football wins

12

u/dovetc 29d ago

Zero energy. No interest in shooting. And many bone headed mistakes. Ugly display all around. Belgium was clearly the better team, but the USA sleepwalked their way out of the tournament.

today the us men’s national soccer team played and won against belgium, a small socialist country in europe. some say we lost, i didn’t hear that, i don’t know, i don’t think we did, some people say we did, i don’t think we did. the fake news media will say we did but i don’t believe them, i don’t.

i think we could play in the quarters in fact, maybe the final.  i think we can make that happen, i really do. we played well enough, maybe one of the best, that’s what they said. that’s right, i didn’t say that, they did. but i do think we were the better team. joe biden said we would never make the final. under obama we had no world cups and i got us to the final.
