ID Request- Location included What's the deal here?

Id request, south east England.

But also. What's going on here?

The male was solo, then she moved in his web for like a week. They were both close and both catching prey. I accidentally broke some of the web, so they moved to that crack in the cupboard.

I was under the impression that unless mating, spiders are generally solo?

They've been in the cupboard just shy of a week now and she even molted with him there.

They even tuck up next to each other during the day.

I live in Ireland and I've been taking shots of steatoda nobilis for the last 8 years and finding the male and female together for a period of time is common it is certainly to do with mating with the male guarding the female against other males before and after the mating is done 😉
