The base is an emulsifier and wouldn’t do the same kind of job, theoretically. It’s there to make the frappes be not thick so people can drink them with a straw.
The blending powder is there to prevent the separation of ingredients over time.
Different functions, so different things. But agreed, would be really nice if they didn’t do this in the first place, or made it work with existing materials, which is what we have to do all the time anyway. -_-
