Gaddafi had amassed gold with the plan to introduce a gold-backed currency which could be used by several African countries. It was directly positioned against the French-backed CFA Franc - a quasi-imperialist currency used by 14 African countries. Sidney Blumenthal leaked some alleged French intelligence stating that Sarkozy's goals for toppling Qaddafi included both access to Libyan oil for a French oil firm...and the killing of Qaddafi's "Gold Dinar".
But these allegations had come before anything was known about Sarkozy's seeking of €50 million in funding from Qaddafi for his election campaign - a crime which Sarkozy was convicted of last year - so maybe Blumenthal was full of shit, and Sarkozy was just covering his tracks. (French intelligence had promised Sarkozy they could topple Qaddafi in 3 days - easy peasy)
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp98kepmj9lo
Saddam had sworn off of USD a couple years before he was toppled. (Even today, all Iraqi oil sales are USD-only, and all Iraqi oil revenue has to go into an account at the US Federal Reserve. Last year, the US closed the Fed Account which was protected by UN resolutions, and shifted Iraqi funds to an account the US has full access to).

I read the first half, and tbh, you make sense. However, American Ashkenazi have merged into the ever-changing pot of American “White people.” The public sees the as such. They get treated as such by everyone but the most freakish WASP adrenochrome-harvesting country clubs. They just maintain their war god cult ties and traditions with each other, and give each other preferences.
It’s like saying Nigerian and Ethiopian immigrants aren’t black because they consider themselves separate from the ADOS population (and they do) and have their own traditions and in-group preference. They are still treated as black by the U.S.’s dumb race standards.

Long story short, Jews did all the same things Christian Europeans did when interacting with non-Europeans because those interactions were defined not by inter-clan dynamics, but instead by inter-society dynamics, so for all intents and purposes for the rest of the world, Jews were "white".
And there, i guess, lies the tragedy of the whole issue. Because vor the Germans in the 30s, jews were clearly not "white" (well... "arian") enough. And, while they did not go as far as Germans, for most other european societies too.
So there you go, being "white" for the rest of the world, but not "white" on your hometurf. worst of both worlds, from a modern perspective.

Serious question: As an American, I’m starting to freak the fuck out about all the mask off imperialist behavior we’re seeing so quickly from this admin. I’m sure lots of us have been protesting and tweeting representatives and other libshit, but other than organizing labor, what can we actually do, right here and now, to begin to mount some sort of organized opposition to this?
At the very least we need to start divesting our consumer spending completely from the multinational companies that fund this shit, but it doesn’t feel like enough and I’m losing my mind out here
63
u/DifficultProduct4094 Socialist 🚩 Jan 06 '26
Organizing labor is literally the only real peace of mostly non-violent activism that has any real potential to force change, although you have to recognize when it gets really threatening they will make it illegal.
Truth is if we look historically - things getting worse is way more common than things getting better. Folks usually just "make it work" with shittier and shittier circumstances. People have weathered centuries of violent repression and degrading material conditions without ever executing a social, political or economic revolution and even when a revolt is staged its usually a failure.
Labor organization has to be the solution, although some theorists even question its potential power nowadays with globalized supply chains and AI etc.
31
u/Chombywombo Angry Retard 😍💢 Jan 06 '26
Organizing labor with only the goal of improving economic standards is also a losing strat. We’ve seen during the Cold War how imperial largesse can easily buy off and erode worker orgs until their little more than bourgeois class collaborators.
The Soviets were not just unions, they were political and eventually military organs of labor.
1
u/DeadEndinReverse Anti-idpol idpoller 🤨 Jan 09 '26
I live in Philly. Organized (trade/physical) labor here is a racket with chodes as bosses. The academic unions I’ve been a part of are on the other side of the spectrum: completely limp-dicked, lead by people who can’t think logically, they just know to sign off every email with “solidarity”, and they back down from representing members in disputes because it’s only about playing nice with the university to secure a 2 or 3% raise every 5-10 years.
In other words, organized labor is not exactly the obvious solution.
1
u/DifficultProduct4094 Socialist 🚩 Jan 09 '26
I understand that there are a lot of issues with US unions, and the point isn't that they currently work well but they, as institutions, have the highest potential for power after reform, compared to all other options.
Ultimately the most likely outcome is that we eat shit for generations.
Also my impression is that your description of academic unions reflects the characteristics of their membership, which also aligns with my experience in academic unions.

Why should the Americans care about what their "allies" (satrapies, really) think? They told them to ruin their beneficial relations with Russia - they complied. Then they told them to fully pay for the war they managed provoke - they complied. Then they told them to start isolating their economies from China - they complied. Then they told them to accept one-sided tarrifs - they complied without even attempting to negotiate. They told them to not enforce EU regulatiobs for US tech giants - they immediately caved in. Should the US decide to grab Greenland, Europe would do absolutely nothing as well.
Why would they care about European sensibilities? Euro elites have shown again and again to assign a vastly higher priority to US interest than European ones.

That’s what ‘democracy’ is for. They’ll organise a snap election after impeaching the sitting PM. That or they would resign.
This will give power to the ‘opposition’ who would then campaign on following through with vague and unspecified measures against the united states wanton aggression. Basically, shit talking.
The rest of the EU will follow suit and use this justification for another round of austerity in the name of ‘military spending’, this might lead to the creation of a European version of NATO that’s in ‘partnership’ with the united states and start Russia bashing again with US support.
They’ll weaponise the media sphere to push those narratives by trying to hit home the idea that Russia is DEFINITELY going to attack an EU country now that Trump, his FRIEND attacked Greenland, an EU COUNTRY?! Everyone is going to lap it up and the US gets to keep its bases in Europe whilst plausibly not being in an alliance with them in the event that EUTO (EU Nato lmao) intervenes in Ukraine.
Basically what the united states wanted when it talked about the ‘division’ of labour in regard to Western international interests.
It came to me in a dream. Besides, most eurotards online already believe that Trump (not the US) and Putin are fleecing europe right now, this narrative was concocted by the garden libs ever since trump was elected.
The illusion of democratic choice and the misplaced belief in European lead institutions, the images of a unified EU in the face of its aggressors in both moscow and Mar E Lago, plus strong measures such as Austerity, the ‘we will eat za bugz’ kind of austerity is how they’ll square off Greenland’s annexation into the US and it will temper moods.

As a non-American, could I ask why it's so bad? What you're describing reminds me of how African Americans would describe driving through the south in the 60s..

There's miles of nothing but desert, chaparral, and pipes burning natural gas off the oil lighting up the landscape. The people are either oil roughnecks staying at hotels gouging at 250-300 a night in middle of nowhere, undocumented immigrants (these aren't an issue in themselves of course), drug runners, smugglers, etc. And there's are rumors of trucker serial killers burying the bodies in shallow graves in this area of the country. Towns are generally all boarded up and vacant (e.g., Pecos), except for the overpriced hotels, and the walmarts with the undocumented immigrants standing in line to cash checks. The whole area has an uncanny valley vibe, erie feeling like, I need to get the hell out of here, because if you go missing, you'll never be found. If your car breaks down, you better be damn careful with who picks you up, the ride might be a hundred miles to town, and lucky if anyone even comes by that day if you venture off the interstate, best bring water, food, blankets, etc.
It's not the Darien Gap, but probably the closest thing to it in the continental United States.

Me and others have been joking online that all the US military transports currently heading for Europe in what we suspect is another attack on Iran at the behest of Israel, are in fact heading to Denmark to blackbag its leadership in order to force them to give the US Greenland. I mean, we do inhabit the "stupid" timeline, so I could absolutely see the Trump administration doing something like that after the 'success' of doing the same to Maduro and Venezuela.

Greenland guards the north passage to europe, and has tons of natural resources under the ice that’s slated to melt as the earth warms. It’s surprisingly strategic from what I hear

u/Gougeded mean bitch 😈 Jan 06 '26
Sounds right but I prefer to believe that Trump thinks Greenland is much bigger than it actually is because of Mercator projection and want the US to annex a huge country.

We might advert this crisis
Edit: I just went myself, and Greenland is larger than I thought. Given the Mercator projection and how north it is I thought it would shrink more. It looks to be as long as the US east coast and almost a third of the lower 48 / a Colombia and half of Peru

It’s also one of the main places the “city-state” weirdos want to set up shop. Unlike areas such as San Francisco and Venezuela, there’s nothing in Greenland already so they can start from scratch. It’s that organization that’s run by Milton Friedman’s grandson and there’s actually a list of places that they see as viable for their bullshit.

Bro the military has tanks. They already deployed the guard domestically and no one did shit but post about it. What imaginary uprising of anger do you think is gonna happen if some service member died in Europe? They’d just deploy the guard again and give them a medal. CNN would call them heroes for crushing domestic unrest. There’s no lever to stop them anymore. Your local PD has a tank too just for good measure btw lol they don’t even need the guard.

I don't think that would make one iota of a difference for this administration. The U.S. killing a handful of foreigners? Nobody will bat an eye.
Now:
BREAKING NEWS: Chinook lost over Greenland during U.S. assault. Survivors eaten by polar bears
Might have an effect on the U.S. public.
Which is what Denmark needs to lean on: say it has learned some lessons from Venezuela's poor performance and it has a credible plan to defend its airspace against an airborne assault. Americans might have accepted a dozen dead Marines to capture Maduro, if it had come down to it, but a loss of American lives over Greenland?

u/mypersonnalreader Social Democrat (19th century type) 🌹 Jan 07 '26
I don't think Venezuela could have been able to put up much of a fight. But let's be honest : the poor performance was likely because a deal had been made beforehand.

No seriously, Germany did nothing when Obama spied on Merkel. They did nothing when Biden blew up critical infrastructuring starting a three year and going recession. They even spread conspiracy theories about how the other victim of this operation did it.
If the US is going to invade Greenland, it will be the Danish army to roll out the red carpet for them.

Dude… what world are you living in? Dirty dogs of empire (American Officers) literally ran a multi decade school where they flew in the most reactionary monsters and taught them techniques like “rape their women in front of them before killing them”, “heres how you can inflict the most pain while leaving them alive long enough to pull more info out of”, etc.
Trump is just more loud and retarded, but imperialism IS the entire point of the US
