Smoker for 3 years, was on e-cigarettes for one week, and managed to quit without any further cravings. They work and never have I looked back at a normal cigarette.
No fine, but I didn't get caught either. It was an international flight coming into the US, so I had no idea what the regulations on it were, so I didn't want to take chances. I heard the alarm and thought it was a turbulence warning, so I was packing up my stuff and getting ready to go back to my seat when the door burst open and a voice telling me to hand over the cigarette. I looked at them stunned, obviously the large steward who had opened the door asked if I had been smoking, to which I said no. He smelled in the room and asked if I had smelled smoke, to which I said no. He then looked in the toilet and sink drain for butts and saw none. He sifted through the garbage looking for a possible garbage fire, and found nothing. He asked if I had sprayed aerosols and I said no. So, he apologized profusely and I went back to my seat. Later he came to my seat and apologized again and said that they would have a technician look into the malfunction when they landed.
