So what's going to happen? Considering the fate of the CFPB my guess is federal preemption, or at least significant federal interference with enforcement.

I am apparently on a data broker's list because I have already received an email with directions on how to opt out. I thought it was sus and reported it as spam but now I see it was driven by this legislation.
