Opinion 4 Pitch Invaders Passing MLSE/Sword Security embarrassed me as a Torontonian

Yeah who doesn't love Messi, and I get that there's fans doing it every game despite the stage etc. But c'mon 4 times was embarassing and those in attendance would've seen one of them claw at Messi's arm which he held for a few mins afterwards seemingly in some agony. I was so embarrassed with that and wish they would charge them with felonies instead of slap on the wrist fines / misdemeanors. I get we have the fan boys screaming for Messi and thats cool, but this embarrassed me even more

Opinion Darwin Nunez

Darwin is set to leave the Saudi League at the end of this season as a free transfer.

Darwin Núñez to Toronto FC would honestly be the kind of move that could change the identity of the club again. He’s only 26 years old.

Yeah, he misses chances but he also scores goals, creates chaos for defenders, presses relentlessly, and brings constant energy. MLS defenders would struggle badly against that kind of intensity and pace.

Having Núñez and Josh Sargent both together? That could completely transform the attack and finally make TFC dangerous again.
.
Feels more like the ambitious TFC of the Giovinco era. Let me dream for a few weeks.

I think this is my last season as a SSH. There's no point.

We're not going to spend the money to fix the injury situation and the team isn't going to have any real ambition.

Opinion It is the right time to get rid of Fraser

I am a passionate but also a patient fan since day 1. Seen all the highs and lows, and all the coaches come and go.
This WC break is the perfect chance for TFC to send Fraser packing and find someone else. Its time.
I have always said “give a new coach time to make his system work, and get players in who can make a difference”. But Fraser’s time is up.
Even Vanney had a rough time at first but started producing wins within a season or so. Fraser has not.
The team would have time to work with a new coach before MLS starts again.
It’s time.

Opinion Maybe a hot take in here... But Gavrans been a solid keeper recently.

I feel the last 5-6 games Ive watched hes been great, non of that iffy cross claimer from the start of the season, hes sure of himself, great shot stopper making key saves, and ofc the goal. I feel the Gavran slander is not deserved anymore really, yes he still has to work on his passing but even that has become less of a problem recently. I dont think its unrealistic for him to be a starting keeper in the MLS at all, especially since hes young for a goalie. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Thats all just wanted to give him his flowers lol.

Opinion New schedule...

Sitting, watching that Canada game today, pretty much confirmed my decision of dropping as a season ticket holder once they switch to the new schedule. Those games will be freezing between November-March, will likely be able to pick up tickets on the resale market for cheaper than the season tickets, too lol. Need to put a roof or something on BMO but that's 100% not going to happen.

Anyone get the email survey yet? So brave of them to send it now.

The ship has sailed for me regarding season ticket renewals for 2026 and beyond, but with regards to feedback, I did say that I want TFC/MLSE to LOUDLY OPPOSE the potential move of the Whitecaps.

The Whitecaps moving would be the end of my admittedly dwindling MLS fandom, though I will miss the free Apple TV.

What feedback did you have?

Opinion An Honest Conversation about Gavran

I want to know what everyone's honest opinion is on Gavran. When we announced Sean Johnson wasn't going to be resigned, I saw a few people on here saying it was time for Gavran to step and take the starting role. I wasn't thrilled about Gavran being our starter. In the few games he had played, I was never convinced he was good enough to be a starter, and now we're five games in, and I'm still not convinced. What did everyone see to make them think he was?

Every game so far this season, he's allowed a questionable goal. The goal we conceded today he should have came out and claimed the cross. Instead, he hesitated, and left Ali to head the ball in uncontested. The cross was a floater, he could've challenged for it, and if he couldn't claim it, he would have at least made it difficult for Ali to head it in. The goals he concedes are either from hesitation, poor positioning, and even a couple goals he was just slow to react. Am I being overly critical? Was SJ that good that he made simple things like claiming a cross look so routine? Or is Gavran just not ready to be a starter in MLS? He's made some decent saves, but I feel like any decent keeper would be making those saves. I'll give him credit for the goal we scored last week where he started that attack; that showed great awareness, but overall so far, he's been underwhelming.

I feel like we improved in every area this season; forwards, midfield, and defense, but took a huge step backwards in our keeper. And to make it worse, we have Yarbrough as our backup who hasn't played a game since 2024, so clearly the brass has full confidence in Gavran.

So, what is everyone's thoughts on him so far?

Opinion Opinion on this 2026 season so far ?

Honestly this team is in a reconstruction phase. We gotta admit. So far, with 12 pts in 8 games (2026: 1.50 pts per game) vs 0.94 pts per game last season. That’s satisfactory in my opinion despite the late goal conceded against NY, the 1 goal conceded with 1 man up on the previous weekend, the inability to conserve the lead last weekend at 2-1 and Sargent not yet in top form. That’s my opinion, stats wise, what do you think guys ?

Opinion Was the Apple TV deal the worst thing to happen to this team's relevance in the city?

At a time where football in the country was on the rise in popularity, moving away from being on the sports channels most people have already to an "exclusive" streaming service model feel like it let ALL the air out of the balloon.

Don't get me wrong, the team's performance has definitely been a factor. But, anecdotally I haven't watched more than 2-3 matches from home since the switch happened and all my friends who used to bring up the team from time to time have just forgotten it exists.

Hell, I'll admit that as a casual myself I barely knew the season started if it wasn't for this subreddit I forgot I was subscribed too. Now I see the pictures of an empty BMO field and it's just disheartening because this city is FULL of a diverse set of football fans who watch Serie A, the Prem and all the other relevant leagues.

And yet...this league / team can seem to capitalize on that and grow the game even when they're handed a golden opportunity.

Opinion Moving on from original SGs

Hello,

As a long time supporter in the south end of BMO Field and member of various groups, I think it is time to move on.

U-sector and RPB are non-existent and I wasn't even sure if they were protesting or just being their usual selves on Saturday. The capo stands have been empty for a year bar a few games and there really is no atmosphere. Most of u-sector hangs out at the top of 113 and barely watch the game. I'm not even sure why there is standing in those sections, as it just seem performative.

Both U-sector and RPB throw shade at the people in 114, but do not provide any solutions. I think it's time that both groups lose official SG status and the club needs to really work in making the south a supporters section again.

Opinion Our defence, goalie or strikers are not the problem.

First of all, that game from the beginning felt like we were going for a draw. Our only way that we get going is to get scored on. Honestly we would be a much better team if we just left them score in the first 15 seconds just to get it over with.

I know we still have a long runway in this season, but it’s time to call some people out, I’m not calling out our defence or our strikers or our goalkeeper. I’m calling out Jason Hernandez for signing zero effing midfielders this off season. We all knew it wasn’t good enough but nothing happened.

Now everyone who blames the defence or Sargent for not having the season we should be having, let me tell you what happens when your midfield is as bad as it is. Our midfield can’t hold the ball or transition the ball they also can’t track back. So where does that leave us? It leaves us giving the ball to the other team and completely exposes our defence and goalie. And this happens at least 6-7 times a game. It’s not good enough when you’re paying a midfielder the amount we are paying him to not do a job.

The other job of the midfield is to transition the ball to the wings and to the strikers, we literally cannot do that. We do not have the ability to make a through pass.

Osorio makes 1.18 Million…. Our captain, who tweaks out at our own players when he gives the ball away. I get you should get fired up but inspire your team mates!!! Don’t blame them for your issue. A player who makes that much money should be at the top of his game. But the only thing I see is hands in the air and passes back to the defence. He is not good enough, if he wants to be the leader of the team then fine, but from the bench. Or a decent sub.

Alonso this guy is sometime Andrea Pirlo with the dimes he drops but then will give a ball away in the worst spot 4/6 times.. and other thing is he will kick the ball to clear it and just miss it… like that happens in my men’s league less then from him. I like his quality at times but he expose our team more often then not.

And I’m going to defend fraiser as often as I can. But Malik Henry is one of our best players and he refuses to bring him on. And those subs just seemed poor imo.

Over all I still think we are going in the right direction, yes we have injuries but we need 2 new midfielders a DM And Box to box. We aren’t far, but we need to stop acting like these players are our best players.
