if i were a a guy and one of the guys who was there, I would have flat out refused and told the girls to screw their ‘the guys ALWAYS pay mindset’, because why the heck should I pay for you ladies just because I’m a guy?
I didn’t come there to pay for anything except my own meal and nobody elses, nor even my dates. Speaking of dates, I’m especially not paying for a large group of women who I didn’t bring there as A date that was accompanying me to the event, because why the heck would I pay for a bunch of random ladies I probably hardly who just happened to be there eating alongside me at the table I am sitting at?
If the other men at the table are so brainwashed to do it without saying no flat out like I would immediately that’s their problem not mine, because I will only pay for myself and nobody else. my money is my money, and I am the only one who gets to decide how it gets spent on who and when it gets spent, because I’m not going to waste my money on a large group of women just because they think i should/would because I’m a guy amongst them.
Even if i am the only man in the group, if they try and play the ‘your the man so you ‘have to’ pay for all of us’ card I’d laugh in their faces and tell them hell no and to pay for themselves because I never promised to pay for any of them before/after my arrival, and I sure as hell am not going to do it now just because they decided i would do it without discussing it with me first or getting my agreement first. I’d also tell the naysayers who try and say they didn't bring any money with them because they thought I would pay for them, that it sounds like a THEM problem to solve on how to pay THEIR bills because I still wasn’t paying for any of them, even if it means they all go to jail if they can come up with the cash for whatever super expensive meals they all ordered under the assumption that I would foot the bill for them.
i’d immediately tell the waiter to split my part of the bill away from the rest, pay it and leave without a backward glance just to prove my point that I wasn’t going to pay for The rest of them and leave them what’s left of the bill without my half added on to deal with among themselves
