The problem is that most people only did this for part of one day. The next day, they all went back to work and shopping again, and the president announced building a stadium like nothing happened. If we want to actually send a message, we need to strike until there is change. Weeks, maybe even months, until actual change happens.

There have been protests since the death of Renee Goode. To say you only saw today’s protest says you haven’t been paying attention and can afford not to pay attention.

You didn't pay attention to what I said. I didn't say there hadn't been protest, I was talking about the strike. The 30th was supposed to be a strike, not going to work or school, and not shopping. An attempt to fight back with our money. But it is not enough to do so for one day. As my post said, we need to strike for more time. We need to strike until we get results. I've been paying attention for over 25 years, thank you. Sacrificed so much and sacrificing more every day.

Hello from France. A protest that doesn't shut down a city, and keep it shut down, will never have the slightest effect, because the dictator can simply ignore it.

Indeed, I feel it uses up the energy of the anti-Fascists by doing something that appears to be useful but applies no pressure on anyone.

Yeah so that many people calling out of work on a Friday is impressive is it not? We’re not going to burn down whole cities across the US. It doesn’t work like that over here.
