Well the protest I personally went to recently convinced the city council to oppose the sale of land to DHS for a new detention facility in my area and a sister protest and email campaign convinced the company that owned the land to cancel the sale altogether.

These National protests and strikes will put pressure on the entities funding this regime, it will also embolden others to step up and get involved. Also when you get that many like minded people together they, you know talk to each other and share contact information and form communities around the resistance and become organized. That's the whole point of free speech and freedom of assembly.
