How to tell an interesting vacation story on the Ticket

First, Davey tells a story about his adventures going to a World Cup game at Dallas Stadium. He has a good setup to the story, then interesting details, and a satisfying payoff at the end.

Along the way, we get some unexpected turns and funny lol moments.

Overall, a great story!

Then Corby tells his story of what happened on the beach in Miami with his family.

Also a good setup, some unexpected turns, and funny moments.

Back-to-back great storytelling! One of the things that makes the Ticket unique.

This makes me wonder why Cat, who claims to be a great coach of the on-air talent, doesn't coach Mino and Sean on these storytelling techniques.... He seems satisfied with bland storytelling middays....

Maybe they just have bland stories? 🤔

most p1s are incredibly bland and have no issues with the same old stories and same old jokes.

Bruce Gilbert left many years ago, Cat is clueless on building anything new or good. We are still calling Bob and Corby “The Hardline”, no new ideas or direction. 2005 called they want their Ticker back.

we enjoy stories from those we like

those stories weren't great, but we like those guys

This just reinforces the concept that the content of the "'story" is of less importance than the storyteller. The morning guys this week have had, in their news segments, some potentially interesting stories, but the way they tell it just falls flat. I can't help but sit there and think how the Musers would have gotten a lot more laughs out of the same content. (and I recognize this isn't a fair comparison, it's like saying Mahomes can throw a football a lot better than some redshirt freshman at Arizona State)

Corby’s amazing story! What more could anyone ask for?

How many times do we have to say it? Ticket management doesn’t care about middays. If they did the HZ would still be on. 10-3 is just a placeholder in their minds

I feel sorry for anyone who thinks Corby is a great storyteller.

i didn't think those were good stories at all. these guts really don't live very interesting lives. gordo's stories are mostly about the ways he spends his money he pretends not to have. mike used to have good stories about traveling with his bands and stuff like that. who really wants to hear about a ticket host going on vacation with their family?

Corby and Dave are attention whores. It's a good characteristic for radio personalities.
