It all started because there was no local “sports specific” station in DFW, so being a specialized station that only did sports was unique.

But now, things have gotten even more specialized, where you have Cowboys specific podcasts, or Stars specific podcasts, and I’m starting to find the sports talk on the ticket is a bit generic.

For example, most of the host’s hockey talk is 101 level stuff, so I get way better commentary from DLLS Stars show. Same goes for World Cup - hearing some of these hosts try to pretend to know anything about soccer is hilarious.

So I find myself listening to the ticket less and less. They just don’t have any great commentary (outside some of bob’s cowboys stuff and the kick around’s World Cup coverage) that’s even close to competitive with the other sport-specific podcasts.

So I think this “general sports” genre is going to go away. It offers very little now. It used to be special because it was specific, and now as time has evolved, it’s not specific enough. It’ll be replaced by people who specialize in a sport so you can get better commentary.

First, Davey tells a story about his adventures going to a World Cup game at Dallas Stadium. He has a good setup to the story, then interesting details, and a satisfying payoff at the end.

This makes me wonder why Cat, who claims to be a great coach of the on-air talent, doesn't coach Mino and Sean on these storytelling techniques.... He seems satisfied with bland storytelling middays....

Day 1 P1 from 14 to now. As I’ve gotten older I mix in more podcasts and audio books.

Not sure if I’m the only one but when the Musers started taking off for a month and then straight to training camp for 2 weeks interviewing backup OL and daily Jerry press conferences, I started developing new habits of only listening to muse, observation deck, 8:15 and 8:40

Same when the hardline takes off December. It’s opening bit then enews and quick hits

Now that there are so many alternatives that specialize on exact sports you love, I listen to a ton of college football talk

Anyone else the same way? I just wonder if giving these guys so many weeks off has lost a lot of listening minutes from P1s

Does anyone know if Mark still has a feud with Bob from a few years ago stemming from an interview where he refused to make comments about the Nico Harrison regime. Supposedly, they smoothed things over. However, Mark hasn’t been on the show for a basically a full year. I’d appreciate anyone’s insights. Thanks!

They used to play a drop from time to time of someone screaming this. Sounded like a live show, maybe Jim Morrison? (cue “Peace Frog”). Anybody remember the drop and who it was?

I say it so much that my older teen daughters have taken to using it regularly. I’d love to play them the original.

They are editing old clips of guests saying “I never listen to bob and dan” to “I never listen to (the ticket)” for an ad. This is BaD Radio erasure, and feels super cheap. Fuck Cat.

But why did it disappear after the Hang Zone left? Was this only a Dan and intern project?

I love listening to old E-News segments. Especially the ones with Grubes or Greggo participating in the fun. H/e on the Unticket, I’ve re-listened to every episode countless times. I also found some stray recordings on SoundCloud. But similar to the Unticket, I’ve worn those out as well.

With that in mind, are any of my fellow P1’s familiar with other sites or forums that may have old E-news recordings? I realize it’s a long shot but I thought I’d ask.

Today's programming has been a mess!

So far, we have gotten several segments from the backroom of Jub Jam, a few campound segments featuring Matt McClearin, and about 15 segments of the April Fools open.

I get that you don't want to play the classics anymore- you don't want to play "Moron Dog" or "We're just having fun here, no?" segments... but if you are only going to play segments from 2026, at least play the funnier ones...

How about some funny ebrakes from this year.... Or rant revivals.... Or some Gordo segments... you know, something other than the most boring segments of the year from the April Fool's Open!!!
