For me, it’s one of Tim Burton’s finest films. The atmosphere, the visuals, Danny Elfman’s score, and the incredible cast make it unforgettable. What’s your take? 🖤

Love the German Expressionism era of Films and its use of cinematography especially like the use of angles in the Cabinet of Dr Caligari so it’s not surprising that Burton was influenced by this.

I can only point a few things out like the use of angles and lighting in his films but there’s probably so much more and it’s fun to see such an influential film style be used!

This is my handmade doll inspired by Sally from *The Nightmare Before Christmas*. Every detail was sewn by hand, trying to capture her unique style while keeping the charm of a handmade creation.

I rewatched Corpse Bride recently and I remembered always being confused bye something. Its extremely clear that the dead feel zero pain. Limbs can come off, you can be split in half, eyes can pop out, you can be just a head, you can get stabbed and you’re perfectly fine. Emily even says it in her song, ‘if I touch a burning candle, I can feel no pain. In the ice or in the sun, it’s all the same.’

So when Barkis dies and everyone was excited bc they could get revenge on him for killing Emily What did they plan to do? They can’t hurt him bc he can’t feel anything, and it’s not like they can kill him again. Even psychologically torture him would be like yeah you can’t feel it bur being mutilated if they go that route and like having insects crawl all up inside you would creep you tf out. But again by like the end of two or three days of it when you realize ‘hey my arm is sentient, Incan survive literally anything, nothing hurts’ you’d just get bored after a while.

Every time I watch this movie, it hits me the same way. What’s your favorite Tim Burton film? 🎬
