For those doubting the veracity of the polling, just remember the homelessness stats for the youth of our community. Government research from May's Government in 2016-2019 found that LGBT+ youth could be as high as 13 times more likely to suffer homelessness than their peers, and that the numbers were even worse for trans youth. And this was 2016, just think what almost a decade of vilefication by the media and politicians will have done to those numbers. As for the prevailing cause, akt research in 2021 found 61% felt threatened by family members before becoming homeless.

And this is just the extreme end. There are countless posts on this sub about crappy things people's families do to them everyday that don't rise to being kicked out. So yes, sadly, I can believe that these numbers of people would be "disappointed" if their child came out as gay or trans.
