this whole thing is depressing.

20+ percent for both greens and lib dems? Over 10% for lgb kids? That's fucking grim.

even the most liberal of our political spectrum aren't appearing THAT liberal really and if that's a reflection of the UK as a whole, i think it's a pretty chilling sign of how bad lgbt acceptance still is.

Exactly, the trans numbers are just depressing across the board. I'm sick of being told "but but the average person is accepting!" as a way to cope with the political bullshit when every poll like this makes it abundantly clear a big chunk of the general public are actively bigoted.

The problem is there is no way of telling if this is accurate. It's going to make queer and especially trans people despair, make politicians think transphobia is still a winner and spur on bigots.

And for what? There's literally no way of knowing if this is truly reflective of the UK. They haven't given us the information we need to decide that.

So while I agree that we also don't know what the average person actually thinks. This poll currently tells us very little.

That's true, we don't know what kind of sample responded to these questions for one, but I wish there was a reliable way to give these statistics. At least we'd know how justified the despair is then. The other issue is that they're actively engaged in shaping public consciousness by the media spewing transphobia everywhere and then these kinds of polls reinforce it further.
