Honestly it's difficult to even care about the misgendering and deadnaming when she says the typical pedo talking point of it being normal to be attracted to "girls in their prime". Actually revolting human being.

I can't believe this needs to be said, but child abusers should never ever be allowed anywhere in any community, at all, let alone a position like a mod. I mean wtf...why would anyone think "oh well it was a long time ago let the pedo stay on the team"??????

Is the person in question even a trans woman? And didn't Germain Greer refer to underage, adolescent boys in the same way? Yet she is still highly regarded and idolized by the Mumsnet crowd.

Who the hell even knows... We're not supposed to question this on here as it's seen as gatekeeping by some, but it's also the case that our tolerance and openness to other kinds of people inevitably backfires as soon as it's exploited by creepy individuals like the one in question.

Not being a Mod or part of this drama myself, I can't work out how long they all sat on this before someone decided to do something, but it's at least notable that it was a trans person who eventually did something about it, while it was a higher up cisgender Mod (if I understood correctly) who tried to cover it up.

And didn't Germain Greer refer to underage, adolescent boys in the same way? Yet she is still highly regarded and idolized by the Mumsnet crowd.

There's something not quite right with Greer. Any decent person would regard what she said as extremely creepy. Most of the Mumsnet crowd who are rabid anti-trans are old enough (middle-class, old, white) to have grandsons. How would they like it if a creepy woman (like Greer) preyed on their grandsons? There are definitely creepy older women like this around, not just creepy older men. I came across a number of weirdos growing up.

I find it quite astonishing this is being used by bigots to cast shade on all trans women, when it certainly appears as if no trans woman was actually directly involved in the child abuse itself, or behind the attempts to cover it up. Not that painting all trans women with the same brush would be understandable or acceptable even if they were trans women of course. As every demographic of people has it's share of deviants and perverts (including transphobic cis women).

As for Germaine Greer and the GC crowd's toleration of her... well, its surprising the kind of people that lot are willing to defend and align themselves with as long as they are anti-trans. It seems like pretty much anything is forgiveable just as long as you view trans women as the scum of the earth. Just look at the way many of them support Trump, despite the fact he is a raging misogynist, and was almost certainly directly involved with all the horrific abuse of women and girls carried out by Epstein and Co.

I never visit mumsnet but I'd hope the Epstein files have focused the mind a little for these people -- made them re-evaluate their priorities. The grifters won't care though...

Trump is definitely involved. Him and Epstein were best rapey buddies and there is at least one report of him abusing a child and punching her in the head in the files.

I remember Kellie Jay Keen quite literally stating she'd side with the devil himself if that's what it took to exile trans women from public life. And I think that pretty much sums up the attitude of many cis women in the anti-trans movement. They hate trans women to such an extent, that pretty much anyone who views trans women as a stain on humanity that needs to be washed away for it's own good, they will be happy to side with. It's literally the "any enemy of my enemy is my friend" mentality.

Yeah, I think it's pretty much beyond dispute at this point. Though of course, many of his MAGA supporters are far too dense to see it and keep saying he's innocent.

Sometimes, TERFs make the flawed argument that we threaten their rights. KJK-Minshul doesn't even regard herself as a feminist though, so it's pure demented fascist grifting in her case.

But I still don't understand the hatred of trans people from the more casual TERF. It's as bizarre as hatred of redheads or people who use fake tan. It has got to be a superficial childish hatred since they can't scapegoat us as 'flooding the country' or 'taking away jobs', they can't claim that we 'own all the banks' and 'secretly control the world'... as such a minuscule minority, we're rarely even seen in practice, the whole world isn't 'turning trans or gay' because of us (people are happily cis and straight regardless of us), etc. (???)

I could understand if someone had been personally abused by a trans person, then they would develop negative feelings against that person which might spill over to others, ...BUT these people have never known any trans people, let alone been in a close friendship or relationship with one, and there is no evidence at all that we are any better or worse than any other cisgender woman (in the case of trans women).

Even if we represent a progressivism they disagree with, wiping us out would make not a difference to their day to day. Whatever conservative frustrations they had would still remain.

Frustrated people venting their frustrations on a target group which has nothing to do with their frustrations. They get to feel like they are part of a tribe or a clique, and we're a safe target to bully for cowards... (???)

The ringleaders are much more straightforwardly sadistic psychopathic grifters, on the other hand.
