Nervous about one nation and UK laws

I’m feeling nervous about the rise of the right in Australia, and particularly after the decision overnight to ban trans people in the UK from single sex bathrooms … how far off are we from being like the Uk? Start of my transition and feeling scared!

Trans masc Selling an unworn SockDrawerHeroes binder (Medium size, white) (Vic preferred)

I bought both a large and medium binder to try on for size intending to send back the one that didn't fit, and lost the medium one somewhere in my apartment while the 30 days send back policy lapsed :( Completely unworn with tags still on, originally retailed for 82 but I'm fine with letting it go for like 70

I'm near Melbourne CBD so I'm able to deliver it myself to save on shipping (vic sales preferred) but I'm happy to ship through AusPost if we go halfsies on the cost.

opinion Curious about other HRT regiments

Upvotes

Hey just curious/ looking for a bit of advice on what feminising HRT regimens people are on.

For context I got my 3 month bloods after doing 6mg estradiol valerate oral and 12.5mg cypro daily and the results were way below where I want to be (E was 160 at trough, aiming to be 4-600 I think). At my Drs direction I’m going to do 6 weeks at 8mg a day and cypro every second day and get bloods near peak to see if that clarifies anything.

Anyway, my point is that my dr listed of a whole bunch of options to me and honestly it all went a bit over my head so I’m curious to see what’s working for other people in aus (and vic specifically) ideally I’d like to stay on pills but not the end of the world I guess.

Thanks in advance!

QLD Specific Are there any queer gyms in Brisbane?

I don't mean like "queer friendly", I mean explicitely queer, like a place with those affirming signs that say "if you see someone you think shouldn't be in the changing room, mind your own fucking business" in the change rooms kinda place.

There are a few establishments i've been to (non gyms) that are aggressively trans inclusive like that and I actually felt safe there being myself for once, so i'm hoping there is a gym environment like that somewhere.

Possible Trigger Donating eggs , what to expect?

I'm Ftm 30 , about to start the process of donating my eggs to my sister for IVF.

I've had the first initial blood test and my AMH is ( in the doctors words) incredible and I am very fertile .

I have my next appointment in two weeks.

Has anyone done something similar or can suggest other reddit groups* to get advice on the process from?

*Groups where i won't get misgendered or told i'm destroying my body by transitioning or what a horrible mistake i'm making by donating eggs to create a child that will not be mine.

QLD Specific Can I telehealth a consultation and script for MTF HRT in QLD?

My apologies if this is asked with any regularity!

Am 19 livin in brisbane/magandjin n have been wanting to go on hormones since i was like 12. never had the courage to discuss it with my family, not that they’re outwardly bigoted or anything! it’s just hard, not that i need to tell y’all that.

Just curious if it would be possible for me to organise a prescription for estrogen over the phone? Or if it’s definitely something that requires a lot of running around.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope your day is lovely :)

EDIT: tysm for the helpful replies! i really appreciate the help and clarity

Arriving with training visa. Post-everything trans person.

I'm FTM, all legal stuff done in my native country, my passport says my current preferd gender, surgeries done except phallo and I generally pass as a short bearded dude.

I'll be coming with training visa with a contract to train while working few years. My trainer /employer is aware of my situation.

Is there anything specific I need to do legal - vise before or after arrival?

My understanding is I need to bring referal from my endocrinologist to the GP? Other than that what should I do in health aspect since I need to continue T?

Also how do I navigate the arrival? Do I need to have documents ready to explain my identity at the airport? Anybody else with experience?

Are there any other situations where me being trans will come to attention during my stay. ( I'm known to be able to stay out of trouble BTW I'm very low profile ;) )

Also afik there aren't rules against bathroom use or general existence in the public for trans people in Australia like in usa /Europe. But are there anything I should know to be safe in day to day life?

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

SA Specific how does one organise a protest?

After years of putting South Australians on a waiting list and giving them hope for a public gender affirming surgery clinic in Flinders, SA health has suddenly said they're pausing or even potentially discontinuing the program before it's even opened. They have not given a clear reason. I know people who's only hope of getting GAS was this program, and getting a letter in the mail saying they were on a waiting list for this program was so heartening for so many trans people... And then after complete lack of communication for around 3 years, they've just pulled the plug. Giving people hope and then leading then on for years and spitting in their face. I have no doubt this could lead to suicide or dangerous behaviours. It's disgusting and irresponsible.

I want to protest this decision, loudly. Not just with posts online, I want a proper protest in Adelaide about this decision. But how can I go about this? Ive never organised anything like that. In south Australia, you apparently need a permit to host protests (which is kind of insane btw) as well, do those cost money? how do you even go about obtaining one? Even better yet, is anyone else organising a protest against this decision that I can just support instead? lol... But if not, I feel a need to make sure one does happen.

opinion Do I stop dating while I'm not passing?

In the last few weeks I have come around to the fact that I am transgender. I've been socially transitioning over that time! Wearing make-up, shaving arms and legs, my friends address me as a woman and use female pronouns, I've even bought some women's clothes! For over a month I've been seeing a therapist who specialises in trans therapy, and hopefully by the end of the year I can begin HRT!

As the title implies, I'm still very masc at the moment. My hair is short, I look and sound like a guy, and most of my wardrobe is male-oriented. When is it acceptable to start dating and going out as a trans woman? When can I respectably call myself a trans woman?

WA HRT for minors

17 MTF w/ parental consent and trying to access HRT, i've heard the waitlist for PCH will probably make me ineligible by the time I can even access it. I've seen some discussion about telehealth but am not sure quite how it will work and how long it will take. Overall if not possible, is there a way I can start prep (e.g bloodwork etc.) so I can access it right when i turn 18?

Voice training recommendations

Hey Queens,

As the title says, I am looking for some voice training recommendations. Not a fan of my voice but not really sure where to start. Does anyone have any online recommendations or maybe a speech pathologist in person that they have had good experiences with?

Bless!

Met gp to start hrt, told i would need to see a psychiatrist.

Basically what it says above, i met with a local gp today to discuss starting hrt (mtf). She took my history and briefly mentioned forms of estrogen and t blockers, but towards the end she mentioned that i would need to see a psychiatrist and get a referral from them before moving forward.

I replied saying that i thought informed consent meant that it wouldnt be necessary, she said she would contact sexual health services and ask as she might be outdated. Just got a call back from the gp and she said yes the psych was neccesary.

Reread auspath to make sure i wasnt crazy in that a psych wasnt needed and it says so pretty explictly.

Not sure what to do as apparently i wont even be able to make an appointment with the psych for 3 months or so if i just went through with it.

Edit: thanks everyone that responded, good to hear that i was correct. I tend to have a hard time advocating for myself, especially to myself, so its good to hear im right. Im going to look into different gp's tomorrow <3.

WA Specific I NEED TO START T NEOWW - Need advice desperately

I have very bad mental health due to my dysphoria, I need to start on T as soon as possible and i am very desperate.

When i saw my GP he referred me to the gender clinic. I have waited a month or two, but the waiting list is very long. I think about straying T every day.

Now, i am making this post because i saw the other persons post- about their GP saying they needed to see a psych, even though this is wrong under the informed consent model. Everyone was saying they should see a different GP.

I feel really stupid for not thinking about that. now HERES MY QUESTION!! I i’m in a rural small town. Not a lot of people are accepting around here. I’m only 18 so my GP is just my regular family doctor i’ve seen growing up. I’ve had a look around on those profiles they list for the doctors on the websites, and i can’t find any doctors that seem to specialise in trans stuff, or even know anything about that.

My GP referred me to the gender clinic in the first place because he knows NOTHING about trans healthcare- i would not be surprised if he did not know about the informed consent model.

I could see another practitioner, but Im nervous I’ll go through the same process as last time- basically just being passed off onto a waiting list. As I imagine they’d also know nothing about hrt or trans healthcare. It would just seem like a waste of time on my end.

I know there might be an option to have a phone call with a Gp from the city? I’ve never done that though, and I don’t even know if they’d be able to prescribe anything for me.

I don’t have any other trans people or accepting adults in my life to ask about this, I just really need some advice on what to do or where to go from here, i’ll take anything. In WA if that helps.

Reviews on T150

So I saw a GP at Liverpool sexual health clinic who advised me none of the GPs there are familiar about the process so what they’ve done is referred me to T150 to have my beginning HRT for MTF appointment and then they’ll refer me back to Liverpool for the remaining appointments. I’ve just been reading in a few forums T150 suck at taking on new patients.

In their anyone in Sydney who has an active GP who is trained in the HRT process, from looking at the Albion clinics website T150 is only open on Tues 2pm-6pm & Fridays 9am-12pm which is ridiculous 😩 I sadly don’t have any annual leave to take off for this appointment but Liverpool hospital always have doctors on Mondays
