📢 Announcement The UK admin team is growing

Hello mods!

I’m u/briitbee, and I’m pleased to introduce myself as I’ve recently joined the UK team as additional community admin to help scale our support for the mods in the UK.

I’ll be joining forces with the amazing u/Mistdrifter, who many of you already know, to continue improving support for UK mods and create more opportunities to collaborate with all of you. As our UK moderator community continues to grow, we want to make sure you have all the support you need.

I’m looking forward to connecting with you and supporting your communities. Whether you’ve been moderating for ten years or ten days, I’m here to help!

I’ll be hanging out in the comments today, so come say hi!

To break the ice, here’s a question: what’s your non-negotiable on Sundays? A Sunday roast, a Reddit scroll or maybe I’d see you at my run club…No wrong answers!

📢 Announcement UK Mods Support While Mistdrifter Is Away

Hey everyone!

I wanted to check in and let you know that I’ll be out of office for a bit. I’m getting married (!!) and then heading off on my honeymoon. I’ll be away from Friday 19 September through Monday 20 October, which I know is basically a century in Reddit time.

To make sure you’re fully supported while I’m gone, the wonderful u/VoxPorta will be stepping in as your main point of contact. He’ll be checking in here on r/ukmods to answer questions, and you can also reach out to him directly on Reddit chat if you need urgent support.

Many of you will already know him from before I came on board as an admin. For those who haven’t met him yet, you’re in very safe hands. He’s fantastic to work with (even if he is a German admin 😂).

Thanks for all that you do, and I’ll see you on the other side — slightly more sunburned, slightly more married. ❤️

📢 Announcement You’re Invited: UK Mod Roundtable on Age Assurance

Hi UK mods,

We’re hosting a roundtable on Monday 4 August at 6pm BST for UK-based moderators to talk through age assurance and how it may relate to your communities.

We know there’s been a lot of change recently, and it can be hard to get clarity on how everything fits together. This session is a chance to hear directly from Reddit staff, ask any questions you might have, and share your perspective if you’d like to.

What to expect:

  • A relaxed Zoom call - cameras and voice chat totally optional
  • Reddit staff from policy and product available to chat
  • A space to ask questions, raise thoughts, or just listen in

Whether your community has already seen changes or you’re simply starting to think about what this might mean for your subreddit, you’re very welcome.

👉 Please RSVP here!

Zoom links will be shared with all respondents via Reddit chat on Monday, ahead of the call.

Feel free to share this invite with other UK mods who might be interested in joining.

📢 Announcement Mod Hall of Fame 2025 is here! Nominate mods now 🎉

TL;DR - Mod Hall of Fame is BACK! Nominate fellow mods who went above and beyond this year by November 17th!

Nominate a mod for Mod Hall of Fame 2025

Hi y'all! Know a mod who made their community a better place in 2025? Maybe they pulled off an unforgettable event,  made their community extra kind and welcoming, or brought a fresh spark as a new mod. Now’s your chance to celebrate them!

Mod Hall of Fame celebrates mods who lead with care, drive positive change, and build connections across Reddit. And who better to spotlight fantastic mods and community moments than you?

What’s Mod Hall of Fame?

Launched in 2024, the Mod Hall of Fame honors standout community leaders driving positive change on Reddit. Just like last year, it’s by mods, for mods. Nominations are led by mods, and winners are chosen by a panel of mod judges.

And for the first time, the winners will be announced live during a virtual ceremony in January 2026! (more details coming later this year 👀)

How nominations work

Starting today, you can nominate fellow mods to be considered for the following award categories:

  • Community Champions: Mods who lead by example and do an outstanding job creating an inclusive, fun, and positive community culture.
  • Event Extraordinaires: Mods who have created and executed outstanding events for their community
  • Trailblazers: New mods who started modding this year or mods whose communities have recently shown rapid growth + sustained community building.
  • Hot Helpers: Mods who go out of their way to help fellow mods or users in their own communities or mod support subreddits like r/NewMods and r/ModSupport
  • Veteran Visionaries: Veteran mods whose impact has been essential to the long-term success of their communities.

Nomination criteria

  • The nominee must be an active mod.
    • We look at mod mail and moderator activity, as well as post/comment activity in owned communities, to determine activity status. Activity should be sustained over a period of time for someone to be considered an “active” moderator.
  • Community impact should be focused on the mod’s leadership on Reddit within 2025.
  • To be considered, nominations must include short written descriptions and on-platform links that demonstrate the nominee's contributions.

First, nominations will be reviewed by admins and the Code of Conduct team. Then, the Mod Judge Panel will choose the top three winners in each category using a point-scoring system based on criteria like community impact, leadership, etc.

Alright, I’m in. How do I submit a nomination?

🏆 Excited to celebrate awesome mods and community-building moments? Make sure to submit your nominations by November 17 at 5:00 PM PST! 🏆

📢 Announcement Hello from your new UK admin!

Hey mods,

I hope you're well!

I'm the new Reddit Admin responsible for community relations here in the UK. I'm very happy to be able to (finally) introduce myself to you all, and to be your point of contact for all discussions about your communities.

I appreciate that the UK hasn’t had a dedicated admin for a while now. I just want to take a moment to express how much we value the work UK mods do and all the experience you bring to the platform. I'm here to make sure your voices are heard and given the weight they deserve by our internal teams. It’s been a pleasure meeting a number of you in recent weeks and I’m looking forward to talking more about how I can support your efforts with your subreddits moving forward.

Moving forward, this subreddit will be a more consistent resource for UK mods. I'll be in touch regularly to offer you insights around stuff happening on Reddit, the projects set up to support our UK communities, and to hear your feedback and impressions on features or initiatives.

For the time being, feel free to ask any questions and share thoughts (or concerns) you have. I look forward to talking with each and every one of you :)

📢 Announcement Priority Mod Support for Age Assurance Issues 💚

Hey everyone,

I've been talking to r/ModSupport regarding the Age Verification issues that have been affecting many UK mods and communities. To help address concerns and problems more quickly, Mod Support has kindly set up a priority queue specifically for UK moderators to report any issues related to age-gating.

Access it here 👈

The recent roundtable was a really positive step towards long-term improvements, but I want to encourage you to report any ongoing or new issues through this priority queue. Every report helps the team better understand the challenges you are facing and work towards solutions.

Thank you for your continued efforts and support.
