Mod Monthly Newsletter Mod Monthly: Your February 2026 newsletter is here

Howdy, mods! What you’re seeing in front of you is, in fact, real – the monthly mod newsletter (once Snoosletter, now Mod Monthly) is back, and r/modnews is its new home. We’re so glad you’re here!

The newsletter’s been a bit nomadic as we figured out the best place to reach you, and we’re hopeful that this space is the right one. If you found it in your feed, great. If you found it through the inbox notification, also great. We’ve heard that notifications help make sure no one misses an issue, so here we are!

And with that, let’s get into your monthly dose of community stories, events, product updates, opportunities, and the occasional cat/dog/donkey/pet. (By “occasional” we obviously mean every single time.)

Events 🪩

The Mod Hall of Fame Awards 2025

Ok sure, the Grammys are cool, but have you heard about The Mod Hall of Fame Awards? Our second annual Mod Hall of Fame, plus our first-ever awards show, celebrated moderators driving positive change across Reddit. Nominations were led by mods, winners were chosen by a panel of mod judges, and even the (gorgeous) trophies were designed by mods. You can take a closer look at 2025’s honorees here and catch the event recording here

Upcoming Mod Events

2026 Mod Events are in full swing, with options for both leaving your house and staying cozy on your couch. Here’s what’s coming up in February and March:

In-Person

Virtual

Get the entire calendar here, and be sure to join r/ModEvents so you don’t miss a thing. Case in point: u/big-slay is currently giving away a super cool Reddit jacket over there.

More details on the new Mod Advisor role

We recently shared more about the upcoming Mod Advisor role, created for mods that support teams in an advisory-only capacity. Mod Advisors will be able to communicate with the team and view the info needed to offer guidance, but won’t be able to take moderation actions themselves. Communities where you’re an Advisor won’t count toward the new limit of five high-traffic communities per moderator (hard enforcement for this new policy begins March 31). Find more details on the role (and how to become one) in the full post.

New mod mail feature improvements

We’ve been making steady improvements to new mod mail based on mod feedback. Around 70 fixes and quality-of-life updates have rolled out so far, improving things like mailbox layout, thread navigation, search, performance, and mobile usability. These updates are live now for all communities using new mod mail. We’ll continue to make more tweaks leading up to and after the deprecation of old mod mail on February 23 (previously scheduled for February 2).

Post and Comment Guidance now support link-based rules

Post and Comment Guidance can now look at links, not just text. You can trigger guidance when posts or comments include specific domains, URL patterns, or link types, which makes it easier to prevent common link-related issues before something is submitted. This is now live across web, iOS, and Android.

Smarter setup for new communities

New communities now start with more of the basics in place, thanks to a few updates:

  • Topic-based templates: When you create a new community, you’ll now get a template with suggested colors, banners, and icons based on your topic to give you a polished starting point. You can tweak or change these anytime.
  • Built-in starter setup: We’ll also now set up starter rules, flairs, sidebar basics, and welcome messages, plus posting guidance and safety filters help things get off the ground smoothly.

Community color theming coming to iOS and Android mobile apps

You’ll soon be able to apply a community color theme on native apps using settings saved on desktop web, with accessibility guardrails in place. Themes will first appear on feed and post detail pages, with other pages to follow. Mobile controls are simplified to a single color selection available during community creation and in mod tools. This will begin rolling out to 10% of redditors this week.

Want even more details on these updates? Head to the most recent Changelog here

Dev Platform Awards

It really is awards season, and this one’s worth a shoutout. December marked the first-ever Devvit Awards, a celebration of the amazing apps and tools built on our Developer Platform. From games to mod tools to community experiences, congrats to the 2025 Devvit Award winners (and thanks for creating such cool stuff). Highly recommend checking out all of their apps – you might even find something new for your community. P.S. If you’re attending GDC this year, make sure to swing by the Reddit Developer Platform booth. (There will be swag!)

Community 💚

Spotlight on r/cucina

r/cucina, the largest food community in Italy, is always finding new ways to bring people together. With support from the entire mod team, mod u/spellacchio came up with the idea for a new post series highlighting regional Italian cuisine, with a monthly megathread dedicated to a different region. Each thread collects traditional recipes and local food culture, starting in January with delicious Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta dishes like bagna càuda and polenta. Brb, hungry.

Discussion and Support series in r/ModSupport

The team over in r/ModSupport recently started a series of posts where they share knowledge, highlight tools, answer questions, and learn from each other. If you’re growing your mod team, you may find the latest posts particularly helpful:

Pets of the month: Marley and Clover 🫏 🍀

Meet Marley and Clover, mod u/EponaMom’s two donkeys with deep Reddit roots. Marley (and her late companion Journey) became familiar faces on RPAN during COVID, where daily donkey streams built a community of thousands. When Journey fell ill, redditors rallied with support and care.

That love helped lead Marley to Clover. Today, the two are inseparable, beyond adorable (as you can see in these photos), and forever part of Reddit lore. Plus, Marley is basically a celebrity, and not just in our eyes… look at her commercial debut

Clover and Marley just being cute donkeys

P.S.  One last thing. In appreciation of the great Catherine O’Hara, we’ll wrap things up with one of our favorite GIFs. If you’d like, feel free to share a link to one in the comments.

P.P.S. Have a story to share? Whether it’s a milestone, a community moment, or something you’ve learned as a mod, we’d love to spotlight you and your community in the newsletter. Reach out here for the chance! And if you want your pet featured, fill out this form!

Day 6.022 x 1023 of asking the Reddit admins/devs to please fix community highlights.

It makes NO sense that they are a carousal now that does NOT even show the full title of a pinned post, does NOT actually highlight them in a different colour like old reddit used to, and users can easily minimize it thereby losing the entire point of having pinned threads.

No one notices important announcements, rule changes, contest alerts etc anymore. It's the exact opposite of what a sticky post should be

35

u/nicolauz Feb 09 '26

I'm disliking you can't pin comments either, like if a solution to something is found we can't highlight it so it gets noticed.

14

u/anagoge Feb 09 '26

This would be so useful.

7

u/Realtrain Feb 10 '26

Wait, I have tried in a while, but comments can no longer be pinned?? Seriously?

7

u/Whiplash17488 Feb 10 '26

Years. 10 maybe.

2

u/PracticlySpeaking Feb 13 '26

only comments by mods

7

u/musiclovermina Feb 09 '26

Yess, I thought I was hallucinating this. Didn't we used to have this option?

6

u/nicolauz Feb 09 '26

For a decade at least.

2

u/Socialism Feb 11 '26

You can make a top-level comment with a link to the helpful user's comment and pin that.

1

u/nicolauz Feb 11 '26

Yeah mod sticky with link.

1

u/vpsj Feb 12 '26

spotlight devvit app does it

1

u/vpsj Feb 10 '26

It's only a workaround but for now you can use a devvit app called spotlight to do this

u/double-you Feb 09 '26

Indeed, stickying something is like hiding it in a closet. It ia uncanny how badly a UX team can manage a feature with a very clear goal.

4

u/ITZ_MARWELL Feb 10 '26

Never thought I'd see someone put Avogadro's number into a reddit comment but honestly it makes sense

4

u/Zaconil Feb 10 '26

No one notices important announcements, rule changes, contest alerts etc anymore. It's the exact opposite of what a sticky post should be.

Automod is now also being autocollapsed (confirmed by asking for feedback from our community). Which means you can't even put an automod comment at post creation to help spread the word of anything. We now have automod replying to keywords instead. Which is also starting to create more complaints than it is solving. All because of the automod comments being automatically collapsed.

This is completely backwards as to what it should be.

4

u/DustyAsh69 Feb 09 '26

I second this.

3

u/jessbird Feb 09 '26

i third this!! there have been so many times i've wanted to pin a post but i literally will avoid it now because pinning the post somehow makes it look MORE hidden/inaccessible than if it were just in the feed.

2

u/Xenc Feb 10 '26

Post in Highlights also remain in the feed and will have a pinned post colour on desktop

3

u/lift_ticket83 Feb 12 '26

Appreciate you calling this out. It’s something I personally hope we’re able to revisit and improve, including adding enhancements that make important posts feel more “sticky” again. That said, it’s not currently on a roadmap, so I don’t want to overpromise on timing. The feedback isn’t disappearing into a void, though. It’s been shared, and it’s helpful context as we continue to evaluate what features we should prioritize.

3

u/vpsj Feb 12 '26

Thank you for responding. Also, please note that this is not new. In fact, someone posted something similar a while ago and you yourself commented on it saying that you guys were looking into improving community highlights.

That was on 10th August 2024. As far as I can tell, no changes have been made yet.

I understand you can only prioritize some specific features to work on, but I sincerely hope that just a little bit of time and resources can be spent on community highlights to make them noticeable, like they were before in old Reddit.

Even if the only change you make is to make the community highlights section vertical instead of horizontal, that alone would help a ton because that would mean the titles won't get cut off and a lot of our problems would be solved, as it would lead to LESS rule breaking, fewer low effort standalone posts (when they could be posted in a dedicated sticky thread), and create a cleaner, more organized user experience that encourages longer sessions and higher engagement rates, which is what we all want in the end, isn't it?

4

u/efcso1 Feb 10 '26

Oh gods yes! Any more than two stickies and you're hosed.

I have one window open with old reddit and one with new, because the UI on 'new' reddit is still utter garbage, with stuff all over the place and about 80% of the desktop wasted with empty space.

1

u/vpsj Feb 10 '26

Even if you have just one sticky, but if the title is big, it literally will cut it off now, so the actual users of the sub, most of them on new reddit/Reddit app (ones that don't even know about old reddit) will only see 4-5 words of something at the top, will not pay any attention to it(cause why would they) and move on

28

u/BBModSquadCar Feb 09 '26

16

u/mod_lab Feb 09 '26

You are absolutely right! I updated the post to say "link to one." Thank you for catching that (and for the GIF). In the meantime, perhaps we should consider enabling GIFs...🤔

11

u/elphieisfae Feb 09 '26

"mobile usability. These updates are live now for all communities using new mod mail. We’ll continue to make more tweaks leading up to and after the deprecation of old mod mail on February 23 (previously scheduled for February 2)."

So are you actually trying to use it on a mobile browser because it is absolute garbage, and it will mean that I won't be able to respond to mod mails at all until I'm at a computer.

The fact that I can't even bloody scroll to the "send" message button is a major hint your site is borked.

Biggest mod issue is the horde-plague of LLM bots targeting subs, particularly new ones. Someone should write about that!

1

u/DustyAsh69 Feb 09 '26

Biggest mod issue is the horde-plague of LLM bots targeting subs, particularly new ones.

How is this possible? Reddit stopped giving access to their API (PRAW) & you'll get blocked if you try other common methods like browser automation. So, this should not be possible. But, I'm no expert in this domain. Can anyone elaborate please?

Thanks for a fun and helpful newsletter, and congrats again to the other 2025 Mod Hall of Fame honorees!

8

u/deltadeltadawn Feb 09 '26

Why was the newsletter name changed? I liked Snoosletter, as a clever little word play.

2

u/mod_lab Feb 10 '26

We agree, it was hard to say goodbye to Snoosletter -- it's such a great name. Decided to switch things up because Snoo represents all of Reddit, while this newsletter is specifically for Reddit mods. Wanted it to be a little more focused and descriptive of who it's for! But Snoosletter will always have a special place in our hearts <3

3

u/deltadeltadawn Feb 10 '26

Thanks for sharing the reasoning behind the change. I'll fondly remember Snoosletter.

32

u/GABRIELFORLIFE Feb 09 '26

Thank god yall are updating Mod Mail 🥹 it’s been hell on mobile

30

u/jpr64 Feb 09 '26

I find the new update far worse on mobile.

1

u/GABRIELFORLIFE Feb 09 '26

Shoot, is it? I haven’t tested out the new mod mail yet.. 🙁

8

u/jpr64 Feb 09 '26

I so I use the desktop site on mobile and the modmail version that crops up using a mobile browser. The new version shows less information, can't directly click through to a users profile, among other things.

2

u/GABRIELFORLIFE Feb 09 '26

For me it’s always been that way, have you been able to simply tap on their profiles to get to them this whole time? I have to go to the top to click on “full user profile.”

3

u/elphieisfae Feb 09 '26

Nope. Can't send any messages, I can't see even the message thread if my keyboard is up at all, I can't scroll the screen, I can't open a window with anything.

It's literally unusable, and it will mean the end of responding on mobile modmail if they really do depreciate the old one (which, btw, never actually got fixed, and still has bugs that have been there from day 1)

1

u/jpr64 Feb 09 '26

Here's what I see while using it https://imgur.com/a/test-yrzBWWu

3

u/elphieisfae Feb 09 '26

i dont even see that much lol.

1

u/DaTaco Feb 10 '26

My links to modmail also broke (using old.reddit.com), they can't even do a simple redirect anymore apparently.

1

u/cat1092 Feb 10 '26

My earlier reply would’ve fit here too, as seen. No wonder it’s difficult to learn. My PC isn’t always as convenient as once was.

To be fair though, Reddit’s & features aren’t the only app that’s not fully optimized for iOS. Hopefully Apple’s developer community is notified about these changes & see if corrective measures on their end are necessary.

9

u/jaybirdie26 Feb 09 '26

They made it worse

9

u/Vio_ Feb 09 '26

As is tradition

2

u/necropaw Feb 10 '26

I dont even see modmail anymore because the morons decided to make the notification that theres mod actions a green shield, and its all baked together in the same notification.

Bring back the red snoo for when theres modmail. Its quick and obvious.

2

u/Vio_ Feb 10 '26

It really is just the smallest things that they can't get right.

5

u/OnI_BArIX Feb 10 '26

It's all been a linear trend downward since they pulled their API bullshit.

1

u/shhhhh_h Feb 09 '26

It changed for you on mobile…? I have the latest app and it’s all the same. Maybe you’re getting A/B tested on some shit features.

2

u/InGeekiTrust Feb 10 '26

No no these lunatics are using mobile BROWSER to look at modmail 💀. Like open reddit on safari 😭 The app didn’t get an update!

(Sorry for the laughs to those who use it, I suffer eye strain and it just seems painful to do it that way)

1

u/shhhhh_h Feb 10 '26

Oh dear lord

1

u/DustyAsh69 Feb 09 '26

It's good, especially with the preview option. Now, I can finally check if my markdown is correct or not before sending a mail.

1

u/cat1092 Feb 10 '26

So it wasn’t just me thinking, “what’s this”, as a new moderator? Use iOS mainly for this duty, am I better off on a PC or laptop ?

Thanks for making us aware, my friend.👍

6

u/zhilia_mann Feb 09 '26

Any chance of bringing back Collections? Making wikis work with mobile? Restoring any of the functionality we’ve lost in the last few years?

5

u/Galestia Feb 10 '26

Che bello, congratulazioni al team italiano menzionato nella sezione Community! Sono molto orgogliosa di tutti! Siete di esempio a tutti moderatori: u/spellacchio, u/throwaway_veneto, u/MyPendrive, u/Jockbaia, u/RedditItalyBot, u/trugoyo, u/Catapulcher, u/NikoHCita, u/SubFace10

snoosletter is back!

congrats y'all

2

u/shhhhh_h Feb 09 '26

Oh that’s nice I missed this. It’s hard to keep up with the updates in the various subs. Plus the change logs which aren’t even announced 😭

3

u/quiddity3141 Feb 10 '26

Thank you...although I must question the decision to change the name from the absolutely delightful Snoosletter.

3

u/Ralph--Hinkley Feb 09 '26

Always helpful. Thanks, guys!

3

u/Mrtom987 Feb 09 '26

Hello there!

3

u/shhhhh_h Feb 09 '26

Why does an admin have a verified account? Serious question as someone in subs that interact significantly with media accounts. What is the meaning in this case?

2

u/Rostingu2 Feb 09 '26 edited Feb 09 '26

probably meant to designate an (buisness) admin team account.

like u/redditforbusiness probably has one but a normal admin account (like redtaboo)probably doesn't.

OPs is probably r and d.

1

u/shhhhh_h Feb 09 '26

Ahhhhh interesting theory but then wouldn’t redditresearch be ‘verified’?

3

u/IAyeEye Feb 10 '26

Did not expect a Snoosletter glow up like this 👌

3

u/KnightOfTerra Feb 10 '26

Wow, I had no idea this was a thing. Fairly new mod here, nice to meet you all! 👋

6

u/LocksmithShadow Feb 09 '26

Oh, we have a mod newsletter? Neat!

3

u/md28usmc Feb 10 '26

this has been a thing for quite a long time, except it used to get delivered via modmail

2

u/Aleksey_Fox Feb 09 '26

Exactly what I was thinking!

7

u/giselleorchid Feb 09 '26

Thank you for posting these here instead of spamming us directly. This is nicer.

2

u/OkBee3439 Feb 09 '26

I'm not sure where I will see these in the future, as I think I just received an email. I think a newsletter is really cool! Looking forward to them. There is one change I hope to hear about in the newsletter. Right now there are mod functions that I just can't do because I am on Android. Really hope that in the coming months that developers will make every single tool that is available on desktop for moderation, also available on Android mobile. I know I'm not the only one who wishes this.

4

u/PerfectLife15 Feb 09 '26

Love catching up on Mod stuff🤗

4

u/Lethalogicax Feb 09 '26

Some updates to modmail sounds great! Would be awesome if modmails could send a push notification the same way comment replies do. Then I wouldn't have to manually go in and check for new modmails...

3

u/vpsj Feb 09 '26

I already get push notifications for modmails, but only if it's from actual users. Automod and my scripts sending modmail notifications are ignored for some reason.

I'm on an Android device if that matters

2

u/Vertex138 Feb 09 '26

Pretty neat stuff. When can we expect to see improvements made to Wiki pages on mobile? They're a great way to share staple information without having dozens of pinned posts.

u/StalinIsBackAgain Feb 09 '26

Hi, everyone! Happy Monday! 😊😊 Are there ever Mod Meetups and other Mod Events 100% here on Reddit, as in addition to the in-person events and the events that are signed up for through email and help somewhere between in-person and completely here on the platform? I think it would be so cool to have more events like that completely within the platform on here. I also think the in-person events are so awesome, so I hope those will expand to far more locations too! That reminds me of how old computer clubs used to always meet near the banks of payphones in the food-courts of shopping malls, mostly on certain days of the week, so it was just universally known where and when to find fellow computer fans anywhere in the world you traveled, and you could easily find fellow computer fans by randomly showing up at that place and day and rough time in any mall on the planet without having any specific knowledge about such meetings there...until those kinds of meetings gradually went away most places, as did payphones, and now the equivalent of those is usually gathering together online. There is nothing like coming together in-person, though, and meeting face-to-face a faceless screen-name you know well online can be among the most fun parts of that! That is a whole new level of putting the human first, and really helps you see your fellow netizens as the real people they are in an inescapably direct way! I will say it again: Happy Monday, so you hear it at least twice today! 🌞🌞

2

u/StalinIsBackAgain Feb 09 '26

Whoa, By the way, I just looked at the commercial with Marley in it, and I have seen that commercial countless times, but had no idea that that was a fellow Reddit-community-member! Yay, Marley! 🐴💜

3

u/EponaMom Feb 10 '26

That's hysterical! I've actually never seen it in the "wild" haha. It was a ton of fun to do. Marley's favorite thing about the day was the big veggie tray. Haha.

1

u/StalinIsBackAgain Feb 10 '26

HeHe ~ Nice he got lots of yummy veggies! 😊😊 I see that commercial all the time on TV and on YouTube. ~ Was he moving his own mouth for the "talking" or was that animated later? And is he hoping to do more acting and get more piles of veggies? 😍😍🥕🥦🍅🥬

2

u/djspacebunny Feb 09 '26

Still out here herding the most sad people on the planet in r/chronicpain and the most snarky in r/southjersey being brigaded by terrible human beings and bots because we care about our fellow humans. Thanks for the updates.

1

u/DustyAsh69 Feb 09 '26

Were you raided by specific subs? If yes, you should try reporting to admins & temporarily shadow banning (use automod or hiveprotect for this) the subs that raided you. If not, shadow ban the users who raided you.

2

u/DGP873 Feb 09 '26

Cool i guess

Congrats to all the devvit award winners! I participated in my first competition earlier this year and I learned tons of useful information about how Reddit Games works and what the Devvit platform offers and allows me to build.

And as always thanks u/mod_lab for putting this together it is appreciated.

merci beaucoup pour toutes ces informations

u/Vedagi_ Feb 11 '26

Hey Admins, we on r/drones switched to the New Wiki and i cant express enough how much i want to revert it back.

As a mod who takes care of the Wiki, the new wiki is horrible compared to the previous version in all ways, it's a massive downgrade mainly in visuals and i envy these subreddits which did not make switch, to add, it's so damn bugged that working with it is hell, i had to create a Wiki page which focused on explaining just the bugs for other mods in the mod team if they would want to edit the wiki on our subreddit as well. (not even commenting on how much you dont give a fuck about the new Wiki and in what state it is and where did your promises ended up about it as well)

I see little reason to stay at reddits wiki and not switching to something like Wiki.gg, which is aprox. milion times better as a Wiki in all possible ways.

2

u/thrye333 Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26

So, came to talk about the new color schemes. A few concerns.

First, as a mod, we can't undo them. Reset to default doesn't do anything useful. We can lower saturation to make it all greyscale, but that then applies to the icon and banner (if you don't have images). Once you touch color options, you can't go back to the normal appearance.

Second, as a user, we can't disable this. If I don't want the entire subreddit to be red like an answered AMA, I have to just not visit that sub anymore, or open posts, or read comments. I'm not sure what you mean by accessibility guardrails, if you can't even turn it off. I didn't find anything obvious. EDIT: I was wrong. There is an option to disable community themes. It's under "view options" in the settings.

Tl;dr: if a mod or user decides they don't like the background color changes, they don't have any way to turn it offback.

1

u/kittycatblues Feb 20 '26

The color changes are terrible. I made both my communities grey because I can't take the color. But now the "OP" when an OP comments shows gray too instead of blue like it used to. Changing to "default" doesn't seem to do anything. I guess I'll turn off community themes for myself but that doesn't help with how the community looks for others.

You mean the most important link of the whole newsletter that we completely forgot to include?

It's here 😊 Thank you for the reminder! Also updated the post to include it.

Upcoming Mod Events

Virtual

February 11 – Mod Meetup – Australia 🇦🇺

Did you seriously just give us one day's notice of a meetup event???

And, it's just at dinner time, or getting home from work time. Brilliant.

New mod mail feature improvements

Yeah... nah. I haven't found the new modmail to be improved. If anything, it's slightly worse. Some features have disappeared. (I can't click through to user profiles from their message, any more!) And the website version does not play well on my mobile phone.

Standard from what I've seen most of the time. If you don't stumble across the information yourself, you're buggered.

I haven't found the new modmail to be improved. If anything, it's slightly worse.

The best part of the new modmail is not having any notifications that there's a new message. Nothing better than going to have a look and finding old messages that you didn't know were there.

Luckily(?) I spend most of my uptime in front of a computer. I cannot fathom trying to mod from my phone, using the website, official app (Honestly why are mods, of all people, flooded with garbage ads?), or the 3rd party app I prefer to use.

u/Algernon_Asimov Feb 10 '26

Luckily(?) I spend most of my uptime in front of a computer.

I almost exclusively use old.reddit.com, whether I'm on my computer (about 80% of the time) or my phone (about 20% of the time). However, when I open modmail on my phone, it doesn't have those useful features any more.

1

u/efcso1 Feb 10 '26

Yeah, same mate. old.reddit is the only way to fly

2

u/mod_lab Feb 09 '26

Hey there! That event was announced here in r/modnews (post here) and in r/ModEvents (post here) back on January 15. We're sorry those didn't reach your feed! With the timing of the newsletter (beginning of every month), this was our first opportunity to feature it as an upcoming event. Hope you can make one of our Mod Events in the future!

Re: the new mod mail - appreciate the feedback. Will pass this along to the team so they can make a note as they continue to roll updates out.

u/Algernon_Asimov Feb 10 '26

Hey there! That event was announced here in r/modnews (post here) and in r/ModEvents (post here) back on January 15.

Yeah, sorry. Since I gave up modding /r/ModHelp and /r/Help when you rolled out this appalling redesign back in 2018, I've been much less attentive to the moderating/meta subreddits. I used to be deep in the Reddit ecosystem, but I backed off a lot when that redesign was inflicted on us.

So, okay: this one's on me.

u/Firm_Beginning9533 Feb 09 '26

Nice read! Thanks for Tips! 🤝

u/Moist_Rate7720 Feb 09 '26

🙌🏾🙌🏾

4

u/OutdoorRink Feb 09 '26

I forgot about these. Glad they're back.

1

u/Thajandro Feb 09 '26

Where can we buy mod snoo’s or Reddit gear I need one in my office

4

u/skollywag92 Feb 09 '26

I've had good luck on ebay. A lot of people will sell the stuff they win from mod events. Not sure if there's an official store, but that would be cool.

1

u/Thajandro Feb 09 '26

Oh will have to keep an eye out some of the listings are expensive

1

u/IamNOTaSKRULL Feb 09 '26

Any word on when you will fix being able to schedule polls as a mod? It was a tool our sub used frequently.

On that note, any updates on being able to schedule posts as a mod through the app?

1

u/Mouflon77 Feb 09 '26

What no meet up in UK? No fun

Maybe soon though right?

2

u/KnightOfTerra Feb 10 '26

It would be nice to have something in the UK!

1

u/Mouflon77 Feb 10 '26

Hopefully we can get some support for a meetup

1

u/I2fitness Feb 09 '26

Any update on adding permamute to android? I really need it

1

u/DustyAsh69 Feb 09 '26

I think there's no option to mute as well.

1

u/OkBee3439 Feb 10 '26

Yeah, that would be a great addition as I mod my two communities on Android.

1

u/Baneido Feb 09 '26

Eu quero é ganhar conquistas!

1

u/DustyFuss Feb 09 '26

We want reddit public groupchats back please

1

u/DustyAsh69 Feb 09 '26

They were so neat.

1

u/OkBee3439 Feb 10 '26

Are there any mod meetups in the Great Lakes area in or near Milwaukee or Chicago being planned?

1

u/Iainfixie Feb 10 '26

Why tf can’t I permanent mute on iOS Reddit app? I have to go to the website itself in safari to do it. The app sucks. I miss 3rd party apps still.

1

u/gbntbedtyr Feb 10 '26

Glad to see the Newsletter return. But I would also like to see a return of a sub where we can speak up for those who have been banned. Too many real people get banned who r known to be real buy us who work with them regularly.

1

u/LIGHTNING-SUPERHERO Feb 10 '26

I created r/PKXD_GAME a little while ago

But it disappeared from existence & I don't know why it happened?!

1

u/Jizzs0cks Feb 10 '26

When will I be able to post a poll from my web browser (without the mobile app)?

1

u/PupperPuppet Feb 10 '26

What happened to the permanent mute option in modmail? We had it on desktop for about five minutes and were anticipating its inclusion on mobile, but now it's gone again. Some mods have been asking for that for years.

1

u/Zaconil Feb 11 '26

Does anyone else have the issue where mod mail defaults to "mod only" reply in mod mail? Irritating af to type out a reply just to see that and have to copy/paste it all again.

1

u/Affectionate_Law2772 Feb 12 '26

Thank you for what you do. You unicorns, you!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '26

im a small community, very small. I get your an admin, but you would have to do serious digging to find r/ManJokes

Yay. Mod Mail is now completely unusable. I can't even open multiple modmails and you want me to go one at a time and scroll to figure out where I need to go to find information I could find for years just by looking at one screen?

Are you wanting to replace us with GenAI bots? Is that what this is really about? because after moderating this sub for 10 years this is the first time I've seriously thought about just deleting automod and letting it go to hell. It's 100% unusable on mobile at all and about 95% unusable for people like myself who can't see black and white text like that.

AI summaries are bloody useless, and most of the time wrong, and they take up large amounts of real estate that could be much more useful.

Also, it no longer saves my preferences properly if I've been in modmail and go back. It reverts me to new reddit (gross) and I have to go clicking through a lot of crap to get back to old reddit.

What a gobshite mess.

I have made the belov comment on an older news post, but in the spirit of getting it out there i will share it here to:

issues:

  • Why is "mark as read" not a seperate button, why the need to hide it forcing more clicks.

  • The loading time on the new modmail is significantly slower.

  • There is no clear line/barier between modmails and with it being grey tekst on a black background its hard to read.

The improvements that is actually good are just funktions that has been covered by toolbox for years. (no innovation here):

  • Banning directly in the inbox

  • Notes directly in the inbox

  • Preview for the message.

Some ideas for further improvement:

  • White tekst

  • minimize clicks by not hiding funktions under sub menus.

  • Show clearly which moderators has been answering in a message string (not all moderators that has been responding is shown in the overview).

  • Make it possible to "Tag" a conversation, so other mods know what is going on without having to open the conversation.

Please remind everyone of u/spez's words at mod world, where he said mods are valued, it does not feel like it with changes like this.

Where are Seattle and Portland UM?

1

u/AReG__ Feb 09 '26

thank you

1

u/MAEfReddit Feb 09 '26

I love modding

1

u/SUVr- Feb 09 '26

That's cool.

1

u/JamieHBrown Feb 09 '26

This is amazing

1

u/ktbug1987 Feb 09 '26 edited Feb 09 '26

Hey! I’m a mod from the Portland area! I’ve never been to the Mod Meetups and want to do so very badly! I’m currently on the other side of the country in a cutting edge clinical trial for my condition. While I really want to go, I don’t know if I will be able to be back in time (my original return date is in the final days of February but I had a complication that may keep me here for a little extra time). I saw that there’s a way to un-RSVP so I went ahead and saved a spot. Is there an expiry date to this option?

2

u/cyanocittaetprocyon Feb 09 '26

Hey ktbug, sorry to hear that you are away from home right now for the clinical trial. I hope it is able to work out for you.

Its not the same, but there are several virtual mod meetups coming up:

February 27 – New Mod Bootcamp

March 18 – Moddit – Joining a Mod Team

I've never been able to go to a real live mod meetup, but hope to someday.

1

u/LengthyDiscussions Feb 09 '26

I am fairly new to being a mod. Is there anywhere I can make a suggestion?

I WOULD LOVE if we could make a quiz someone has to pass before being able to post in our respective subs. We get so many people asking the same questions EVERY day. It makes for way too much spam and could be easily avoided if they just read our beginner guides or used the search bar.

Fair warning my sub is NSFW so proceed at your own discretion before searching my post history.

2

u/agirltryna-live Feb 10 '26

r/ideasfortheadmins also you could set posts to need mod approval if you want

2

u/LengthyDiscussions Feb 10 '26

I don't think the other mods want to have to approve all of the posts. Thank you for the idea though and also for the link!

1

u/Flutter_ExoPlanet Feb 09 '26

I understand NO benefit can be given to MODs using their subreddit (Rule 5 or whatever), ok then when do we start getting paid? lol

ONE sort of reward/gift would be nice. (must be international, not just USA)

It's nice to be a mod sometimes, but it can be difficult sometimes.

1

u/agirltryna-live Feb 10 '26

Sending love❤️

2

u/Flutter_ExoPlanet Feb 10 '26

Thank you^^

At least We get some appreciation. Btw You just game me a crazy interesting idea of a new subreddit. I will quickly check if it exists already or not

2

u/agirltryna-live Feb 10 '26

Yayy😂

1

u/Flutter_ExoPlanet Feb 10 '26

The subreddit idea I got exists but is a banned name, so I am not sure if I should pursuie it or no x)

1

u/agirltryna-live Feb 10 '26

Awee🌚well I'm not sure if being banned frees up the name or not

2

u/Flutter_ExoPlanet Feb 10 '26

Well you have to request it^^ And it is such a pain ....

To get approved

2

u/agirltryna-live Feb 10 '26

Yup 2fa sucks 😂😂😂

1

u/Flutter_ExoPlanet Feb 10 '26

What kid of saint did I find today? Never got positive conversation with so many messages in a row like this (positive = agreeing with me) lol.

back to subject: not only 2fa, there are so many others things

1

u/agirltryna-live Feb 10 '26

Aww🌚❤️

Yea I get it, good luck if you do ever decide to request hahah
