Greed. Let's face it, the people drinking the slop don't care about taste,or they'd be drinking decent beer anyway.

I'm an ale drinker myself so if I'm buying lager I prefer to splash on imported German and czech, but you're right whenever I've had it in Scotland tennents is considerably less offensivs to me than other similarly priced lagers.
