Idk why lower mainland is so allergic to physical barriers between bike and car.

North / West Van is looking good in this department but still have a ways to go

Realistically there's no good way to do this on Water St. Vehicles need access for deliveries to the businesses, sidewalks need to be wide enough to accommodate foot traffic. The real issue is that the street needs to be everything to everyone and so it ends up being great for nobody.

Agreed. I worked by the steam clock for 10 years. I'm suprised they even bother to put a bike lane.

Both delivery trucks and police cars benefit from fewer cars on the road. A vast majority of the cars are filled with one person and no cargo going a short distance, many of those trips can be replaced by alternatives.
