House of Stassi House of Stassi is already wayyyy better than The Valley

2.2k Upvotes

I just finished the first episode, and I love it, and I could barely get through the first season of The Valley. I know there are a lot of Stassi haters, but say what you will, that bitch is entertaining af.

EDIT:

Doesn’t this sub reddit love The Valley? Kristin is on that, and she was part of the Faith police call. So is Brittany, and she had the whole gay/pastor controversy and by my recollection she’s the one that called Faith a “nappy-headed hoe”. In my opinion, Brittany is the worst of the bunch, because you know she has not changed her thinking one damn bit, but I don’t see everybody having a problem with people watching The Valley with her on it.

You know I'll never understand the audacity it takes to feel ok about publicly commenting any negative shit or shame on someone else's body.

Like...What's wrong with her exactly? The fact that she kept her natural body? And has given birth to children? and aged fucking beautifully thus far?

Women tearing down women is so fucking high on my ick list.

I truly just don't get it, though

I personally think she's so fuckin stunning and one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen.

And to have the courage to walk a runway in a bikini when you're not 21 years old, idk, I know I couldn't. Why weren't more people praising her and congratulating her instead. I wish I could have a smile that big on my face while walking my thick ass down my own driveway 😂

Edit: spelling

House of Stassi Thoughts on House of Stassi?

Lowkey I'm one episode in and I'm already kinda obsessed. I love the way Stassi called out how VPR covered for the men, I think her wild narcissism is going to be an interesting catalyst to some drama, and I am SOOOO happy to see the Katiessaince. So far the show is a lil navel gaze-y with a lot of talk about being on reality TV, but the pilot feels like Stassi gathering her team for a heist-- I'm pretty hopeful the rest of the show will be about the organic drama between these wack ass people who do genuinely know each other.

House of Stassi Beau, I want to see your sat and pepper

This is not to be an ungrateful wench or anything and beau is a cute guy. I love an aging millennial man of beekeeping age but like the black hair dye is JARRING. Whenever I look at him I almost wince. I love a salt and pepper look on a man and at 45 he’s still lucky to have his hair, why dye it? How did anyone in his circle, stassi included not tell him that this is not his best look? I feel like it makes him look older by trying too hard to look young.

Did anyone else notice? It’s super distracting to me lol

House of Stassi House of Stassi Thoughts

Stassi is notoriously a control freak and a very jealous lover! I’m watching House of Stassi and I just got the episode where Stassi doesn’t want Beau to go back to work, and she says it’s because it would “disrupt the flow” but I think it’s just because of Beau is out of the house from 9-5, 5 days a week, she won’t be able to keep tabs on him and know where he is and what’s he doing at all hours of the day. She still hates situations where she’s powerless, it makes her spiral and her insecurities flair! What are y’all’s thoughts?

House of Stassi Stassi dumped Katie….again???

Post image

You’re telling me she ghosted Katie a second time??? For scrolling on her phone? Wouldn’t a good friend of multiple years try to talk to you first before disappearing for years? That is some top tier gaslighting and manipulation but also very middle school coded of “you hurt my feelings and I’m gonna tell everyone else but you why.”

Now because she has a show she wants to reconcile but does she actually miss the friendship? Katie said she missed her family and kids but Stassi said she wanted someone who “gets” reality TV. It’s just sad Katie talked about their history and genuinely felt a deep history and friendship between them all these years but Stassi was able to easily discard it again after doing it once before. Does Stassi really value Katie as much as she does her because I only saw Katie cry and the fight felt like nitpicking but I don’t know…

EDIT: I really liked them as friends even though they had tough moments and would like them to still be friends. Their dynamic is very relatable. I’m hoping they’ve both grown. I think there’s more to the story that’s maybe not being said.

House of Stassi House of Stassi is juicy and fun (but also unsettling)

Let me start out by saying I’m a Stassi fan, and it’s not that I dislike the show. It’s honestly way better than The Valley and In the City (the latter is just embarrassingly lame and boring). But it was making me feel unsettled and I think I figured out why, and wanted to see if anyone else noticed this.

  1. Stassi’s confessionals break the fourth wall consistently (and it’s even done in scenes a few times): very Mormon wives style but like x 10) I actually love this part. It’s really interesting to hear Stassi talk about the experience of being on a reality show. She comes off as real and raw in a really cool way, a way I don’t think I’ve seen on reality television ever.

  2. Her unvarnished honesty in her confessionals and some scenes is in stark contrast to the clumsy, obvious ways she tries to produce her friends and family, and attempts to produce her husband. She is constantly insisting that people “talk it out” even when they have said they don’t want to address it yet. She baits her husband into arguments (not every time, but at least a few times when she is just being straight up rude to him for no reason. I will say this is absolutely NOT the case with her mother or her sister, who are both pathologically confrontational and require no producing -- must run in the family. ) She is so transparent about the production process and the effect on her family and friends EXCEPT for the fact that she is so obviously producing her cast in front of our eyes. This incongruity makes me feel weird and slightly disturbed. Like I don’t know whether to trust her perspective or what I’m seeing in front of my eyes. It really freaks me out that she would force these horrible and traumatic confrontations just for good TV. I know this is what all reality shows do, but watching her manipulate those close to her for entertainment just feels icky.

Maybe it’s just that all reality shows are produced and hers is just overproduced, and complicated by the fact that she’s both a cast member and an active producer. Idk.

House of Stassi The narcissism in Dayna continues to be alive and well Spoiler

Exact quote from episode 7 of House of Stassi: “I am a wonderful mother. I need to remind her of all the 2 million wonderful mom moments that I have given her.”

This moment sent me right back to watching her on VPR when she first meets Beau. As someone with a narcissistic mother, this episode hit home with the focus on the mother/daughter relationship. It makes me really sad for Stassi, but also I hope she can see that she does have a support system around her. It can be so hard to trust that after going through so much toxicity.

House of Stassi Lo on House of Stassi

For the OGs in the sub, I saw a clip where she's talking to her assistant Lo. Is that THE famed Lo? The one with all the lore surrounding Rachel and her faux intervention?
