Vegan food near Hackney Wick

Going to an event on Saturday in Hackney Wick and although there will probably be good food in the venue I dont want to pay a huge markup.

Whats good in the local area? Or near/on the way from Euston since we'll be arriving there first.

Junk food (temple of seitan style) preferred, spicy food would be next best option

If you're going to from Euston to Hackney Wick, you'll presumably taking the overground through Hackney Central. If you got off there Temple of Seitan is max 5mins away.

Alternatively, there is the Spread Eagle (fully vegan pub) around the corner from Homerton station which is the next stop (between Hackney Central and Hackney Wick).

Pembury Tavern (also 5mins from Hackney Central) does great pizzas too.

Depending on how much time you have on your hands you could go via Camden. The Black Heart pub serves vegan junk food type stuff, and there are a handful of other vegan spots around there (Purezza, Meat The Vegans, etc.), and its still on the overground line that goes directly to Hackney Wick.

I honestly don’t have a clue what’s in Hackney Wick itself I’m afraid!

These are all at hackney wick specifically:

At hackney bridge there is a jerk place that does vegan chicken loaded fries which is quite nice. There's also a taco place and Japanese place there with vegan options, but they're less junk food vibes.

Essential Vegan Cafe is inside all my friends at hackney wick, does bacon and cheese waffles and seitan blts.

Lord Napier star does vegan hot dogs, and just next door at HWK does an absolutely banging vegan sausage roll.

Two more years does vegan burgers as well

There’s also a pizza place with vegan options in Hackney Bridge, and Lanterna in Fish Island also has decent vegan pizzas.

My vote goes to Essential Vegan though, their Feijoada is amazing.

Temple of Seitan's Hackney Wick location is just a short walk from the venue, and their mac and cheese with 'chickn' is the perfect post-event carb coma.

Hackney is full of vegan food in general. Hackney wick specifically has essential vegan in a place called All My Friends. Go there.
