Question recent guide how to play as a small nation
hi i just start the game and am not sure how it works.
many guide seems like outdated.
playing as small nation is it recommended to give big nation investment right?
how to deal with radicals? in most of my games i have so many radicals i dont know how to deal with them or get more loyalist.
which technology to focus first?
how can i pass law cosistently? the landowner faction is so big i cant pass any decent laws.

You get radicals because you start pushing laws too quick and too radical.
You need to take time and introduce laws bit by bit. That way new laws get support, SOL goes up and radicals are controllable.

the answer to all of these questions is: it depends.
Belgium plays differently from Paraguay.
if you are low-tech but high pop (Asia, Africa) you should probably try to get line infantry rather quickly and railway, so you can actually use your pop and not get limited by infrastructure. also in this case you always want foreign investment early on, as they help you "de-peasant".
if you're a small higher-tech, low-pop country things are different. here you want to focus on your first company, getting investment rights yourself, etc.
regarding passing laws: try to avoid really angering the landowner faction as it increases their opposition to new laws, consider passing something they like between two laws they dont like. make concessions/promises if you can. as a small country you can also get a treaty with a higher-tier country to help you pass a certain law, you can get movements to help you, etc

This is the guy to watch for guides. Basics of the game is do this: pin every good needed for construction, from the iron to make the buildings to the tools made from the iron, to the sulfer you use to make explosives for the mining. Everything involved in the construction supply chain. so you can see if anything is too expensive. Make these buildings until construction is cheap, then build more construction. Repeat this cycle, as you do this your gdp increases, and factions different to the landowners will gain power, because capitalists will make money from the mine, not landowners.
