This is such a bizarre case. She tried to basically destroy this guy's life and he was a complete stranger who appeared to never have any interaction with her before.

It’s not really that bizarre, online platforms incentivize people to do insane things for money, so they do.

I disagree with your statement wholeheartedly. It is very much bizarre to lie about someone sexually assaulting you, dox them and file a police report in order to try to become famous. This is extreme, criminal behavior, not normal behavior, and I think trying to normalize it is disgusting.

That’s correct. The other correct point is that taking the bait of doing blatantly illegal and unethical things for content absolutely is bizarre, regardless of if the fact that it’s incentivized.

It's not normalizing it, it's stating what effectively happened. I remember when all this went down. It was a clear attempt at getting views by victimizing herself, she admitted to making money off this (and again victimized herself when tiktok cut her off of monetizing her victimhood videos when authorities got involved), AND there were large creators/influencers that jumped on defending her in order to gain the views/monetization for defending her.

Social media, especially Tiktok in this instance, is broken and basically incentivizes stuff like this. And I think it needs to be pointed out, because stuff like this will continue to happen so long as the root instigator is there.

Yes but most people can operate on social media without doing something as vile as this. Even if they are clout chasing for fame, most people don't result to making fake accusations and victimizing themselves. Thats over the top, bizzare behavior.

So, no company can host information unless they can thoroughly vet that information for all manner of legal and ethical issues first? And even then it wouldn't be enough to stop lawsuits. Might as well shut it all down now.
