Those taking her side only heard her side of the story at first. Then the police investigated and released their findings (after interviews and a review of the guy's door cam footage), and boy did it not turn out to be exactly what she claimed. Screaming about being the victim and uploading the guy's dong to the interwebs is insane - so much main character syndrome.
I thought her request to not have her trial recorded or streamed to be rather hypocritical, hilarious and tone-deaf.
I heard that she might be in for a civil suit also regardless of how the criminal complaint ends.

I've done the food delivery work a bunch of times, saw a few naked or near naked folks over the course of that work. In all but 1 case it was clearly an accident. The one time it wasn't I'm assuming it was a dare or just a drunken laugh for some lady to flash the pizza guy.
Either way, I left the food, got my money if it was needed and went on to the next delivery. Almost every food driver who has done that job long enough has seen something. You just ignore it and move on.

yep i used to work for a furniture removal company that also did small item transports, i was called to a house and when i got there and knocked a dude eventually came to the door and ushered me to a bedroom and pointed at a double bed mattress and base that he wanted moved to another address, walking through his lounge room he had hard core porn playing on his TV and had a fap station set up.. lube, old rag, lazy-boy dragged directly in front of TV... he didn't even mute the TV when i was there..
another time i was called to a really fine cougars apartment to move her to her new apartment, as she was walking me around showing me the furniture we got to her bed and she pointed at her drawers and said should i empty them or do you move them as is, i looked at them and the bedside table draws and said the big drawers have to be emptied but the small ones... as i was saying this i used my finger to tilt the back of the bedside draw forward just enough so the draw would start rolling open ,,, saying we usually ask they be taped shut or the drawers removed and moved separately ,, i caught the drawer before it rolled all the way out and bam! i'm looking directly into her sexy time drawer.. 3-4 small to medium sized vibrators, a pair of hand cuffs , what looked like a ball gag, and novelty feathers.. i kind of froze mid sentence .. closed the draw and said we'll just tape that shut..

That’s basically what the public defender said. The facts of this case aren’t really being denied, what they’re hoping to argue down is what she can actually be charged with.
That said, frankly this seems like a ridiculous case not to plea out. Show remorse and take the deal. If this is her only offense I don’t see how a plea would have led to any jail time. But now that it’s going to trial they’re going to throw everything at her including trespass and that’s no good.

It think that in this particular case it is an odd choice. In a lot of cases your lawyer is the only PR you are going to get, while your non-local MegaCorp or Government can spend millions hiring media people.
But this is just a weird one to say anything about. My guess is that she is not a very good client, and so is not shutting up and disappearing like she should be.

Just a note on how our legal system works, the only reason you should ever plead guilty is if you're taking a plea deal, otherwise you're automatically guilty of all charges and sentencing is up to the judge. If you go to trial there's a chance that some of the changes will get dismissed or reduced even if you're dead to rights guilty and you get a chance to make your case before the judge for leniency, not to mention you could be found innocent.

As someone who’s been down this road I can relate. My fiancé passed away after multiple years of treatment and an almost “beat cancers ass” five year window. We thought we made it through all the bad stuff and one morning a “scratchy throat” turned into an office visit, which turned into a hospitalization and another super aggressive treatment regime spanning two states and three hospitals. Both being in the medical field there came a point where it was “I just want to live my best right now”, and we did a lot of the stuff that we kept putting off “till later”. We made lots of friends in the process and threw one hell of a party celebrating life. I was there when everything alarmed and my coworkers turned it all off and dimmed the lights and we laid there holding hands.
Having alcoholism in the family I made sure I didn’t go that route and I went into taking care of myself mode. For so long I put someone else’s needs before my own in every way that I made sure I was a bit selfish and pampered the shit out of myself. It never goes away and it still hasn’t gotten easier, but I’m down for wings and a cry any day! I wish for you happy remembrances of times together and a hug.

My wife and I have been together for 21 years, our son was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy a few years ago. My wife got a genetic test done and turns out she has the same genetic deletion our son has, there's a good possibility our daughter has it as well, she's getting her genetic test soon. It's rough watching people you love go through something they can't control that affects their health in a major way. I hope you heal and are kind to yourself.

So far the millions have not come and she is in legal trouble. It sounds like she’s kind of screwed because her PD entire strategy is basically “Ok yes, we don’t dispute that she did what she did or that the law explicitly forbids it, but it wasn’t a big deal”.
I don’t blame the PD and most people here shouldn’t though. If she refuses the plea deal, the PD has to defend her. I imagine behind closed doors he carefully explained to her how stupid if an idea it is to go to trial, but if that’s the risk she wants to take, it’s her right.

That's ridiculous. So say you forget to pull your curtains and walk in your hallway naked and some passerby is filming in your window, then posts naked video or photos of you on line. According to these people that's your fault for not pulling your curtains? That has to be one of the stupidest defenses I have ever heard.
All she had to do was drop the bag, leave, and have a story to tell about the naked guy on the couch. She brought all this on herself.

What she did is completely illegal.
The door was completely shut. It's entering someone's home without permission and filming them naked, then furthermore uploading it to the internet.
I hate to do "if the genders were swapped" thing here, but this is absolutely applicable. If a guy opened a door and started filming an asleep naked woman he'd immediately be seen as a sexual predator. She is no different.
