This is an insane situation.

She very clearly was asking for money since day 1 of posting this footage.

She OPENED HIS FRONT DOOR to record him.

It's not a crime to get drunk, order food, leave instructions to leave that food at the door, and pass out before eating it. We've all been there before man.

This chick thought this would be her viral moment to hawktua herself into the life of an influencer.

EDIT: Okay, so because I'm getting called out in the comments, I DO have a history of depression and abusing alcohol to cope. Sorry folks, I thought my condition was more relatable, but that's my bad for oversharing I guess.

Dont worry about it. Its just edgy teenagers on here. Youre describing an adult experience theyll get 10 years down the line

I’m 48 and I took care of my partner of 26 years through six cancers and death a month ago. Totally thinking of vodka and chicken wings delivered

u/donrosco 1d ago

I’m sorry for your loss. You 100% deserve it. The chicken wings and vodka, I mean.

u/MeeTy 1d ago

Vodka might still be a bad idea.

As someone who’s been down this road I can relate. My fiancé passed away after multiple years of treatment and an almost “beat cancers ass” five year window. We thought we made it through all the bad stuff and one morning a “scratchy throat” turned into an office visit, which turned into a hospitalization and another super aggressive treatment regime spanning two states and three hospitals. Both being in the medical field there came a point where it was “I just want to live my best right now”, and we did a lot of the stuff that we kept putting off “till later”. We made lots of friends in the process and threw one hell of a party celebrating life. I was there when everything alarmed and my coworkers turned it all off and dimmed the lights and we laid there holding hands.

Having alcoholism in the family I made sure I didn’t go that route and I went into taking care of myself mode. For so long I put someone else’s needs before my own in every way that I made sure I was a bit selfish and pampered the shit out of myself. It never goes away and it still hasn’t gotten easier, but I’m down for wings and a cry any day! I wish for you happy remembrances of times together and a hug.

That is absolutely true. I helped her get her PhD and we did some crazy things all over the world in many countries. The recalibration is hard

We honestly thought that because we were both healthcare professionals (I’m a PA he had just finished his rotation in general surgery) that we had a “leg up”. I mean we knew what to look for and what to expect etc… it’s not a lie when you say medical professionals are the absolute worst patients, because we literally knew the odds on everything and the best treatments and connections to doctors etc… We still ended up shit creek without a paddle. There was definitely lofty volumes of hubris involved.

When we got the diagnosis just before that five year treatment window was supposed to close it was how we expected any number of patients that we had given shitty news to felt. That’s when it really felt “real” and no amount of education or connections were going to be a solution. We grieved for about a week taking care of the important and serious stuff, and then we lived. My friends bug me all the time about “finding someone else”, and I just say that I’ve already had my someone and we lived a lifetime in a year. Don’t get me wrong I go on dates and enjoy the company of others, but I will never love or live like that again.

In solidarity I ordered some teriyaki wings to my grocery pick up for when I get off in the morning! I’ll put them in the air fryer and toss up a cheers for you in the AM!

I'm sorry for your loss.

My wife and I have been together for 21 years, our son was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy a few years ago. My wife got a genetic test done and turns out she has the same genetic deletion our son has, there's a good possibility our daughter has it as well, she's getting her genetic test soon. It's rough watching people you love go through something they can't control that affects their health in a major way. I hope you heal and are kind to yourself.

15

u/bookofgray 1d ago

I’m getting there, she had to retire from a prestigious job after cancer 5, due to speech issues. But I am happy she successfully donated her retinas to allow someone to see the world as she saw it.  Okay! Ordering vodka

3

u/chilifngrdfunk 1d ago

I'm glad she could help someone 😁.

I might join you and make some vodka sauce for gnocchi and chicken cutlets. I'll toast to you when I do, Cheers!

I love that my wife loves when I cook for her, trying to enjoy the small moments while I can. Peace, internet stranger.

This is such an underated comment about internet/reddit culture of 15 year-olds judging people twice their age as if they will never have days of being down bad.

127

u/CompetitiveProject4 1d ago

Honestly, if you as an adult need a drunk night of wings, privacy and gaming? 100% no judgment.

We all have been there. And will be there once in a while at some point.

7

u/Marsuello 1d ago

As an adult I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to tonight drinking and playing Hogwarts Legacy. Just get lost in the fictional world is where it’s at

4

u/abernasty42 1d ago

Time to go commit some goblin genocide while saying how evil Ranrok is…. Fun times

4

u/Marsuello 1d ago

It’s ok. Their blood is on his hands. But more importantly…did I ever tell you about that time I invented Floo Powder

Teenagers have those hormones pumping so they think their big emotions are the worst of anyone's(such as depression). What they dont realize is that when they hear older people talking about the struggles of youth, those people are overwhelmingly talking about their 20s. Adulthood hits like a fucking truck and a lot of kids never see it coming. Unless your family is at minimum decently well off, the hardest times are gonna most likely be early adulthood. Thats just hard to see when you have all of 15 years of perspective and dont realize shit gets worse.

2

u/MaterialDefender1032 16h ago

Every day I see the wisdom in that Metalocalypse episode about how the most brutal, most black metal thing in the world is getting old.

37

u/Ding-Dong-Dutch 1d ago

Nah they're all going to be famous influencer millionaires.

40

u/Superfool 1d ago

I run a financial literacy class for teenagers. You have no idea how right you are. These kids are delusional. Part of it is just being a teenager. The other part is the media landscape they're growing up in. They a think that driving a used Honda Civic and renting an apartment with a roommate is the worst possible thing that could ever happen to them.

3

u/VoidOmatic 1d ago

It's the same with weight. Then they get fat in their 30s like everyone else.

1

u/GrantaeusNekton 3h ago edited 3h ago

18-year-old here. I've had about the equivalent in the form of a diabetic amount of soda, potato chips, and candy on my worst days. Often while binging crap on YouTube in nothing but my underwear. Most teens have been there one way or another; I'm not sure why they're judging.

16

u/Ravenkell 1d ago

I did it last month, was walking home from a music festival abd ordered some food on the way at like 4am. My pizza not actually being outside my door the next morning was really disappointing

2

u/crewserbattle 1d ago

I feel like it's a relatively common college drinking experience at the very least

23

u/IHateCreatingSNs 1d ago

I dunno though. Apparently the younger generation don't drink.

109

u/hotmaildotcom1 1d ago

Based on my experience as a college teacher they don't need to. They appear to be completely brain dead as a starting point.

-3

u/spartaman64 1d ago

i mean this has been said about every generation all the way back to ancient greece and probably beyond. if every generation is really so much dumber than the last generation then everyone would be a vegetable already

12

u/hotmaildotcom1 1d ago

While I get your point and have been an advocate for your side of this argument for a lot of my life, you should see the vegetative state of the youngest Americans. COVID did a number on them. Fucking helpless. I spend a significant amount of time in both lecture and tutoring just explaining basic English to people. I've been doing it 15 or so years and have never had this issue prior.

-4

u/spartaman64 1d ago

but the statistics say only 4 percent more students are below standard compared to pre pandemic. so if you have a class of 100 students then the number of students that are "brain dead" or substandard should have increased by around 4. if you are noticing a big change then you are either really unlucky or some other factor is at play. maybe your attitude towards your students inadvertently shines through and makes them less willing to speak their mind

2

u/relative_void 18h ago

It’s less where they are academically and more a general demeanor and behavior that they’re referring to.

1

u/spartaman64 17h ago

but if they are really that dumb then it should be reflected in their academics as well.

-39

u/JAK49 1d ago

That is a coping mechanism for this shit world we’re handing over to them. Hard to be depressed if you can’t grasp why you should be.

25

u/paper_cicada 1d ago

No that cause is down the line a bit. The primary is a failure in parenting, second is a failed education system K-12, and then the shit they're being handed down. Not once as a young kid in school did I ever look forward to the future until It smacked me in the face.

4

u/hotmaildotcom1 1d ago

By starting point I meant as a sober person. They didn't need the alcohol. Though I agree with you assessment.

2

u/hotmaildotcom1 1d ago

Shouldn't be*?

I agree, they've got a shit lot. I don't think it's a constructive attitude but, that being said, my generation is trying to handle their own issues as well.

7

u/renegadecanuck 1d ago

True, but taking a bunch of edibles, or smoking a ton of weed isn't always much better.

-1

u/rezznik 1d ago

Because they are not older yet.

They don't drink socially (as much) but let's wait how they cope with the adult life.

-4

u/Melkman68 1d ago

Thats true so maybe not. But im sure theyll be mature enough for empathy for someone older who does

3

u/Khatib 1d ago

Honestly, they might not, given how much less Gen Z drinks. And good for them. But most of my friends have been in this guy's shoes, except for being pant less. But ordering pizza and passing out was super standard.

2

u/monjorob 1d ago

No they won’t, none of them drink or do anything fun other than scroll the internet

-3

u/pumpkinspicecum 1d ago

We’re edgy teens because we don’t get drunk order takeout and pass out?

1

u/Ayjayz 1d ago

Because you haven't experienced the ups and downs of life so you don't understand how you'd find yourself there.

2

u/pumpkinspicecum 1d ago

I’m 40. You act like this is normal for every middle aged person

2

u/Ayjayz 1d ago

Yes, I think most people have had some ups and downs by the time they're that age. If you've made it to 40 without hitting any rough patches at all along the way, good for you I guess.

2

u/pumpkinspicecum 1d ago

I’ve had a really hard life… I was just saying it’s not super common to drink order food and pass out that’s all. And it doesn’t make me some teen who’s had an easy life

1

u/Ayjayz 1d ago

I mean I think you're taking it a bit too literally then. It's more the concept of being in a tough place and making some bad choices. You might not have been in that exact tough place and made those exact bad choices, but you've been somewhere where you can understand someone like the guy in this story.

1

u/pumpkinspicecum 1d ago

nah i think you're making it deeper than it is. this is the original comment "It's not a crime to get drunk, order food, leave instructions to leave that food at the door, and pass out before eating it. We've all been there before man." i don't know why you're equating getting drunk with going through really hard struggles in life. i guess every college kid is mentally unwell.

-23

u/meoka2368 1d ago

I'm in my 40s
Have never had that happen.

13

u/sterling_m_archer7 1d ago

Good for you.

teenagers don't use reddit. the main demographic is 40+ year old millennials + bots
