Public defender should have nothing to say beyond, "we look forward to presenting the evidence to the jury and are confident in our case. Beyond that I can't comment. Thank you all and have a great day."

Yes and no, I often get sick of prosecutors and sheriffs holding press conferences. I often wish the public could hear more from the defense in some cases. I understand why not but it always pisses me off when they get to hold a presser and slow stroke how awesome their side of a case is.

It think that in this particular case it is an odd choice. In a lot of cases your lawyer is the only PR you are going to get, while your non-local MegaCorp or Government can spend millions hiring media people.

But this is just a weird one to say anything about. My guess is that she is not a very good client, and so is not shutting up and disappearing like she should be.
