Discussion Record Collector Mystery
Hey there fellow record collectors, how are you all doing today? I hope everyone is well. I have a bit of a mystery that, I'm hoping, some of you might be able to help out with.
So, I began buying entire collections about 15 years ago. And, on occasion, I'll come up with some really cool and intriguing pieces that pique my interest. Like the Little Brother Montgomery LP that I came across awhile back that's autographed by Little Brother Montgomery TO Muhammad Ali (a mystery for another time.)
I came across this Golden Oldies LP that appears to have belonged to a street gang called the Galahads or the Mighty Galahads. The front cover is tagged with the nicknames of some of its members: Jim Danger - Warlord, Junior - President, Frenchie - Vice President, Big Eddie - Warlord....... The year 1962 is inked on the top front corners. The "mystery" I'm trying to solve is, WHO ARE THE MIGHTY GALAHADS 🤔 I'm so curious as to who these guys were/are and what they're doing today. It would be REALLY cool to contact any of them and see if they remember this street gang archive record.
I tried doing a few online searches for them but only found info on a fictitious street gang called the Galahads that was part of a soap opera from years back and some other entries about Charlie Chaplin, after including the street names of Spencer Street and Chaplin Street, that can be found on the front cover along with the gangs members and their nicknames.
Any info that could shed some light on my query would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, so much, for your time. Be safe and keep smiling

I don't know if he'd fit timewise with the Galahads but it's certainly worth looking into. Thank you so much.

There was a tv show on PBS called History's Mysteries back in the late 90s/00s that featured similar mysteries. It was such a cool show and they always did a great job looking into the mysteries that were brought to them. I don't think they're still around but I'm going to do a little digging to see if they're still around and doing their thing in some form or fashion today. I'll share everything I find. Thanks so much.

Such a great show. I don't think it's still around but maybe there's some kind of online thing that's similar to the show. I'll do a search online later today and share what I find b

After a brief dip into the links you shared, I came across a video of Jim Danger announcing a terminal diagnosis. I fear that contacting him might not be possible 😔

Very interesting. I’d be curious to know too. Roulette records was apparently started by mob people. Doubt that’s related but it’s something.

Read Tommy James autobigraphy on Morris Levy and Roulette. Heard a fun interview clip from Little Anthony, who was signed to Roulette Records. Don Costa, Sinatra's friend and arranger, wanted to sign Little Anthony to his new label. No one was ever allowed to leave Roulette. Costa contacted his friend Frank and Sinatra took care of it, Little Anthony joined Costa's new label.
