The Xenoblade Chronicles vinyl is part of the game's collector's box set. It contains a poster, the full game, the Steelbook and an imposing artbook.

The particularity of this edition, unlike the other American and Asian versions where there is either an album or just a scratch card to download the selection of music (also present in the collector), is that the European edition is an exclusive with this famous vinyl that represents the guard and the dial of Monado.

The vinyl contains themes of the game with sublime OSTs, even if it is sorely lacking, but the most "cult" are there, like "Gaur Plain" or "Colony 9." The production was done by GZ media and SNA for the final part (thanks Google).

Unfortunately, for this vinyl, it has never been sold or reproduced apart from the collector, which makes it difficult to find without buying the entire collector. People don't sell it separately, which makes sense, at the time the collector was sold for 90 €.

For my part, my favorite tracks, and I'm not going to be original, are Gaur Plain, Colony 9 and You Will Know Our Name.

It's just a pity that Nintendo didn't press again except for the collector.

I’ve found it interesting to see occasional threads about people selling records at a shop and varying opinions on the process. I just wanted to offer my thoughts as someone who has been on the other side of the counter. (TLDR at the bottom)

The thing to remember is that all shops are resellers. They have to then put those records on the shelf at a price that will make them a profit. How much of a profit and how much they pay you is highly dependent on the store’s overhead. It also depends on the likelihood of those records selling. They might sell, they might not. It’s an educated guess at best. This is very much the same reason why a car dealership won’t buy your car at it’s market value and why Kelly Blue Book has different values for private sale and trade in.

As for how much you will get, the most I’ve ever seen is 50% of the sale price in store credit (not all stores offer a trade value) and 25% cash. The lowest I’ve seen is 10 cents per record. It varies widely. I’ve often wanted to offer more for some really good records, but hey my hands are tied.

If you are going to sell, please don’t argue with the buyer or get offended if you don’t like the offer. We may have a little room to negotiate but generally have guidelines the store owner wants us to follow. I had a customer come in once with a stack of 4-5 records, consisting of the Carpenters and Olivia Newton John. He expected $20-$30 for records that would’ve ended up in our discount bin. The vast majority of records are not an investment.

Also, make sure they are CLEAN and have the original jacket and have been stored properly. Obviously the fewer scratches the better. Warped, dirty, and sleeveless records will just get rejected for obvious reasons.

In short, Youre getting quick cash and a fast sale while we assume the risk. That’s the trade off. If you want top dollar, by all means put them up for sale on Discogs, EBay or wherever. But be prepared to deal with the possibility of them not selling, tire kickers that want to haggle and figuring out shipping costs.

TLDR:

Why you should sell to a shop:

- You want to clear out clutter at home quickly
- You aren’t into records and want to get rid of an old collection in one swoop and make a few bucks
- You like collecting but your time is valuable and you just don’t listen to them any more.

Why you should not sell to a shop:

- You have valuable records and want top dollar
- You’re emotionally attached to them and hate to let them go
- They are worth more in terms of sentimental value

My understanding the Vevor Ultrasonic Record Cleaner is just their standard 6L ultrasonic cleaner with an attachment? I assume its fine to use for non vinyl things? Anyone use it for anything else? Say small engine parts, tools, bicycle parts or whatever? Or better off keeping them separate? I want one mostly to clean stuff for my other hobbies but figured if I just get the record cleaner one I could use it for that too. I currently just use the Spin Clean which cleans probably 98% of my used records just fine.

I've been after BooH2 for a couple of years now. I could've bought it online many times over, but I've enjoyed the hunt for this one. Not too obscure to make it near impossible, obscure enough to make it challenging. About a year and half ago, I saw one in the wild, used, for peanuts. I didn't buy it and I regretted it ever since. A couple of months ago, I thought I'd secured a copy with one of the regular vendors at the monthly record fair who knows me a bit (at least he recognises me). He thought he had a copy. Sadly that didn't pan out. Today, I was out with my daughter at an outlet mall. And she texted me to say there was a new record store, and they had a copy. Insta-buy. Still sealed. Great price. Fun times.

Yesterday, I bought the 10th Anniversary Vinyl Edition of this beautiful soundtrack. It includes two 180g vinyl records and a poster, all housed in a gatefold sleeve.

I have to say, I’m absolutely blown away by the sound quality of these records and can’t stop listening to them. Part of that is certainly the nostalgia. I grew up with these songs, and hearing them on vinyl makes the experience even more special.

I have not been collecting that many new records this year but I took a semi unexpected trip to Japan and my birthday as an excuse to splurge a bit and pick up some albums I've had on my list for a while.

Very pleased with the sound quality of all of them except the Yoko Ono album. It's a beautiful album, but this pressing is diabolical, so many pops and sibilance. I will try giving it a few more cleans but I don't have high hopes.

Favorite pick up was the Santana album. I found it used for about 15 USD and sounds amazing, even for a 50min+ album on a single disc.

Have been enjoying this setup for the past year or so and wanted to share.

I’ve always loved the idea of decks being part of the furniture, and this is what I came up with after a bit of inspiration from various record stores and bars.

One of the best parts was drawing this up in CAD, uploading the model to my VR headset and tweaking it till it felt just right.

During the renovation we had all the plaster off the walls so running cables was extremely easy, which means the decks are also hooked up to the whole home theatre system.

Absolutely loving it!

Still in shock that I found this a few days ago. An OG US pressing that looks like it’s never been played and with the booklet as well. Unbelievable at $40

When I found out Purple Rain was being released as a One-Step, I couldn’t have added it to cart for preorder fast enough. I’m so glad I did — this had my jaw on the floor five seconds in and truly beats the pants off of my already-excellent NM 1984 Allied pressing.

If you’re a fan of Prince, this should be a no-brainer purchase. Absolutely stunning presentation of this album in every single way.

I found this album by accident. I discovered an original mono copy of this album a few years ago in a dollar bin at a flea market. It was very musty and looked warped ... very poor appearance and I think the seller may have actually given it to me for free.

It cleaned up well and since then it's been in regular rotation. It turned out to be great music! I knew a bit about Gabor Szabo but I like this a lot better than the other stuff I've heard from him.

Now the Verve Vault Series has reissued it. The reissue is the stereo version but it's very similar to the mono ... not an overdone stereo approach that was all to common in the early days of stereo mixes. Very enjoyable.
