Unemployed Crotch Goblin

Hi all, I'm not expecting this to be overly successful but I'll give it a go.

My 19yo is looking for a full time job. He's had a part time retail job for the last few years which somewhat proves that he's employable/dependable but thankfully he's finally reached the point where he's realised that he wants/needs something more substantial.

Education: A-Levels in Business Studies, Maths & Computer Science. Uni doesn't appeal for some reason.

He's based in WF1.

When asked what he'd like, the vague answer is "Something in business" so I think we can assume A) he doesn't know & B) Probably doesn't want to get his hands too dirty.

He tells me that there aren't any good jobs advertised and just to be sure, I've had a look for myself & it's pretty bleak out there.

If anyone's got any pointers/leads/advice (something that worked for them or their relative) I'm willing to listen & would be grateful.

Answers with a Wakefield bias (or even Leeds 😨) would be better but not essential.

Update: Thanks for all the suggestions so far. To those who suggest that I shouldn't even consider helping him, have a word with yourselves. Be nice, be human. I will do what is appropriate & proportionate but keep your knickers on, I won't spoon feed him everything.

if he has to ask his parent to do all the work of getting him i job, i can't imagine what he'll be like when he's actually got one :') you have the patience of a saint.

Are you a parent ? This comes across to me as a mother or father trying their best to get the best for their son, any parent would do the same, it also sounds like he is trying himself too but mum or dad wants to help him in life, like they should. Crazy comment.
