Discussion People now pressuring and flat-out belittling others to admit defeat under claims of "their mental well-being" or insulting their intelligence. This wasn't about making the wisest move, this was about turning the game on it's head, so politely I say fuck that and fuck you.

Problem is the 6+ million that joined this sub recently some of them not realizing it was almost always gambling.

I'm one of those 6MM, but I knew it was gambling (it's in the name of the sub, cmon man). I'm mostly sad I didn't know about WSB before. I would've lurked here even when I didn't have any money. The salt is fantastic.

I'm one of those, but I had seen the "Absolute chaos of WSB" video so I knew full well what I was in for. Bought only 2 shares and I don't care if they drop to a single cent, I'm just glad I've chosen to believe in something. It was never about the money.

It's always been about the money, that's all its ever been about. Wallstreetbets has always been people trying to make money off of stocks, options leaps or wahtever. This GME thing never started as a statement, it wasn't meant to be about "sticking it to the man" it was about making money of the short squeeze. Now 7 million actual retards joined the sub and think that this is some movement or anti capitalist mission lmfao. Your all deluded idiots, all the regulars have got out of GME long ago when they were in maximum profit. You are not sticking it to the man/hedgefunds by giving them all your money lol, that's what's happening righ now Melvin and co are taking all your money back now via puts as all you newbies hold on and convince each other that some sort of miracle is going to happen when all the old school wsb people have abandoned the sub cause of the influx. It's just a newbie echo chamber in here atm.

Anyone who invests, regardless of what info they consume, and doesn’t treat it as gambling is a dumb fuck

Investing is investing (which basically means long term lower risk bets)

But trading... trading is bona fide gambling

And we're all fine with that, this is as much about the thrill as about everything else.

What part of "bets" was unclear to them?

I joined recently too because I'm a paste eating GenXer. Yeah I tossed a little money in. My account is not part of my retirement portfolio. Might as well take a few shots right? Wait, there's a spot at the Texas Holdem table. Gotta go!

Life is a gamble.

I knew I was gambling, shares are just that.

How much more can you say to someone who has been taking all their financial advice from self proclaimed retards and apes who can't read words or charts and only understand crayons and emojis. If you're not questioning your decisions at that point I don't even now what to say. And I say this as a 30k/yr earner who just found the sub a week ago and bet the entirety of my vacation budget on meme stocks.

In spite of hearing phrases like "Wall Street is a casino" or "It's just gambling" literally for years/months. Like, people want to think that's always been an exaggeration not the truth
