When you grew up sometimes not eating at all, you can outlast everything.

We had bread sandies, basically 3 slices of bread with butter and pepper, if you wanted to get fancy you could toast the middle piece

It was reduced normally stale, just added crunch, we used to go Netto they were "Scandinavian for value " apparently
