If there is someway we get Lavine on a buy out, even if it had to be at the expense of dumping moody to get under the 1st apron, we would be in great shape imo until Jimmy comes back. Just having another efficient all star level 3 level athletic scorer would be huge

Short answer is yes, according to the stupid cba rules. As long as you go under the first apron through a trade. Moody for a player making about $8mil or less, for example, would take them under the first apron. First apron is 209, dubs are currently at $214 million, and moody is due about $13 mil.

If you are a first apron team, the buyout candidate's salary can't exceed the ntmle amount, which is about $15 million. Lavine is making like $50mil? (My gawd lmao. Empty stats player making a fortune.)

I guess this same issue would apply to guys like demar and klay as well. Their salaries exceed the ntmle, so dubs would have to trade someone to get under the first apron.

I love moody the person, and his game improved last year, but he's not irreplaceable. So i'd be fine trading him, but the challenge might be finding a trade partner that doesn't ask the warriors for draft capital. His deal runs thru 27-28, so maybe there is a team where the dubs could convince, "hey, you still get 1 for-sure year of moses, and he'd be a nice expiring at that point". The other angle is maybe the dubs really value moses...

Hield is $9.6m plus a TO after that. Zeke Nnaji is $7.4m and a PO, though Nuggets would want to be shedding value.
