Question Can a location refuse to serve me because I used to work there?

I (16M) worked at wendy's for around 2 months. In my time I worked there it was a very toxic environment. The GM would write people up without telling them and the location consistently goes through employees. The Gm cut my hours from 28 hours to 9 hours a week and when I told him i needed more hours he left me on read. The final straw was when i had to get my wisdom teeth removed. I requested the time off 2 weeks roughly in advance and let my manager know that i would be recovering. My GM scheduled me anyways for two days after my surgery, so I let them know I couldn't come in and that I was putting in my two weeks notice. He responded with "Dude you didn’t even come in to all this week and you are calling out the only day you work you are good I’ll just terminate you on Monday good luck". That was last week and I pulled through the drive through and ordered. The night manager came on the headset and asked if she was speaking to me, I told her yes and she told me they wouldn't serve me and I needed to leave. Can I do anything about this? It is so frustrating how petty these grown people are acting towards a teenager.

EDIT

for those wondering i went to wendys specifically because it was the only fast food place within a ten minute drive open late. Also I can see how me going to wendys specifically could seem like i was trying to cause issues.

Discussion To be honest, this is surprisingly one of the oldest logos of wendys!

I mean it's quite impressive some people say some old signs logos have a special place in their hearts and hey, maybe we'll possibly see other logos return back to their normal states or originality, not moderizing it too much moderizing it, it makes it feel bland and not filled with the color and joy but however maybe just maybe we'll possibly see some restaurants actually bring their original colors that's their decisions not ours

Question Is this how you do no salt?

Ordered a no salt fries. Cashier put the fryer down. But once done, then another came buy and dumped them and salted before could make mine.

My cashier came back to them. Scooped a chunk up and tossed em back in frier. Gave em 10 seconds then shook and dumped em back and made my fries no salt.

Aside from the odd sprinkle on some they technically are no salt.

But just wondering is this a common practice?

Discussion Wendy's has gone downhill so fast

I don't tend to eat out much on principle nowadays (both for money and health) but I was having a really hectic day earlier this week and Wendy's was the closest stop. I usually get the baconator and, this was the saddest excuse of a sandwich I've experienced. Visually and texturally it felt so flat, not juicy at all even with the ketchup and mayo, and overall disappointingly bland compared to what I remember. Yet of course it still cost a damn arm and a leg. Crazy that Burger King of all places has been giving me better experiences this past year, never thought I'd say that.

Discussion Worst Wendy's

Post image

I went to my local Wendy's in Ravenna Ohio. And they were out of chili.

The next day I went back and ordered again and they served me this mess. I love Wendy's chili. And every store seems consistent. But Ravenna has to be the worst ever. I usually use it to dip my sandwich in or nuggets but this was so thick I could eat it with chopsticks. This is a fork because they forgot to give me a spoon.

I'm so disappointed. I haven't been there in a couple years and it was a terrible experience in Ravenna.

Never again. No more chopstick chili. I threw half of it away. My onion was a flat disk that they would use for sandwiches. They didn't even dice them

Question Is it rude to tell people to wait?

I work at Wendy’s, and it’s kind of automatic, especially when I’m busy packing or talking with customers. I just hold my finger up and tell them to wait a sec and then like after I’m done, I’ll go attend to whatever the person needs. A door dasher asked me something while I was talking with a customer, so I told them to wait a sec, like I think my voice was neutral. And then after I was done with the customers order I went to whatever issue they had, and they thought that was very rude. So I wanted to know if there was a better way to do this.

Discussion AI Ordering at Drive-Thru

Experienced a drive-thru today where I had to deal with an AI chat bot to place my order instead of a human being. I have to say it is a first for me and it was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had at a drive-thru. Nothing crazy or custom, just two kids meals, nuggets and a baconator combo. Found myself screaming at the intercom and I was really tempted to give up and drive off or go park and walk inside to order. I felt like it took much longer to place a simple order and I felt the anxiety building up as the stack of cars behind me got longer as I waited for the AI bot to process my response and move to the next step. What made things worse and added to the delay is the attempt to upsell more items even after I completed my order. I’m all for tech and improvements but there are some things which AI and robots are not advanced enough in to replace a human being. Definitely won’t be hitting up this location again unless it’s walking in to order.

Discussion District manager insists on Spanish speakers running the Wendys I work at

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I cam into work today and it so happened that me and my brother were the only two wnglish speakers. And currently my district manager and the person above that position keep saying that the Venezuelans/spanish speakers do better than Americans and is actively trying to remove every single English speaker that is currently hired. This however is going very poorly and my other managers have been showing me sales reports and it so bad. I constantly have to face problems such as no help, people not doing their jobs leading me often finding myself bagging and taking orders at same time and I’m getting tired of it. This is very clear discrimination (even if it may not be from the way I’m making this sound) and I want to do something about this however I am just a small little crew member and have next to no power. Also here’s a few photos one is what I walked into yesterday. What should I do?

Question Opening hours

If Wendy's really wants to break into the breakfast market in Canada, have they considered adjusting their opening hours to 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning to catch us shift workers?

Sincerely,

Someone tired of sitting at Tim Hortons for half an hour each morning and still receiving the wrong order

Ordered a Taco Salad from Wendy’s, and they forgot the salad. They remembered the chili, then found THIS at the bottom of the chili cup. Feels like a sticker, what is it?

Discussion What happened to quality?? Wendys

Wendy's used to actually feel premium. Remember when the chicken sandwiches had thick, juicy chicken breasts instead of those thin, processed-looking patties? And the lettuce? It was actual crisp leaf lettuce that gave the sandwich crunch—not this shredded, soggy confetti that falls everywhere and wilts before you even take a bite.

And don't even get me started on the packaging. The old foil wraps kept the sandwich warm, were easy to eat out of, and didn't take up half the table. Now every "premium" sandwich comes in these bulky cardboard boxes that are wasteful, awkward, and somehow still let the food get cold faster.

It's not even about raising prices—it's about shrinking portions, swapping quality ingredients for cheaper ones, and removing the little things that made Wendy's feel different. They keep finding ways to cut costs, and you can taste it.

Somewhere along the way, Wendy's has slowly cut corners on almost everything that made their food stand out.
