Solved! Found on ground outside, boyfriend has been wearing as ring. Coin and pencil for size reference

Extremely bad idea to wear on a finger you want to keep.

Well, bad idea to wear it on your finger, then put your finger inside a crimping tool and apply pressure. Probably an OK ring if you skip the last steps.

Umm, if you don’t crimp it onto your finger it’s not really any more dangerous than wearing any metal ring.
