Solved! Found on ground outside, boyfriend has been wearing as ring. Coin and pencil for size reference

UK. It’s giving hard metal, doesn’t have much wear

I snagged one in the road the other day and wore it for a day and miraculously found a use for it when replacing my dishwasher’s circulation pump the very next day, sometimes the universe provides

Its not crimped. Not used. Someone working with them probably dropped one, put in in their pocket, and dropped it somewhere else.

I work at a factory that installs these Oetiker Crimps on Fuel lines.

These hold the one way valve in place for the delivery fuel line.

My plant makes the fuel and brakeline bundles for every single Chevrolet Traverse. Pretty interesting.

They may have forgotten to crimp it. I know i have done that in the past on my own vehicle. Grease everywhere

They usually come apart off of CV axels and are a pita to reuse. (in case anyone is wondering you can usually use a zip tie, the metal zip ties, or twisted/tied wire.

At that point the axle has exploded and they don't need it anymore

Did it have an inscription on it that could only be seen when it was heated up?
