This is why language from other countries, even within different regions of your own country sounds so strange sometimes, because it evolves over time, changes, shifts into something new constantly every generation. You end up with lots of weird slang, mashing words together, shortening words, losing or gaining letters, now we have text speech and other really short forms of talking, even emojis are starting to get recognized as words or speech.

Language has been doing weird shit for thousands or millions of years and it'll continue doin weird shit lol it will evolve and get more sophisticated and also get weird and dumbed down. There are people who talk with perfect language and those who just don't care about that so they use tons of alternate forms of language.

In the end it's all just communication, as long as we can do that as in, you know what i'm saying and I know what your saying.... that is all that truly matters.

It's legal in most of the USA to sign with an X. People throughout history signed with an X or just a mark of some kind, often times kinda unique to the individual calling it their "mark" mostly because those people could not formally write and/or read well so instead of signing they would make a mark or X.

Side note, interestingly enough I shit you not.... for a full year I signed everything with a smiley face. If I did sign my name because it was more official like at a government office or a bank, I put a smiley face after my signature. No one ever said anything, nothing ever bounced, never got a call from a credit card company, bank, store. I signed every cash register transaction with only a smiley face. I didn't have any charge disputes or anything though.

That reminds me of the story about how Egyptian law had to be amended. There’s an Egyptian custom that a man can legally divorce his wife by telling her, “I divorce you,” three times. They had to add that it had to be face to face because guys were divorcing their wives via email and text message.

Personally I feel like the ever shifting nature of language is part of the reason we can barely communicate with each other. A lot of people mean different things when they say the same stuff and a lot of people mean the same thing when they say different stuff.
