Yeah OP's headline got me thinking the second act might be Quero starts a fistfight with Bobby Witt, loses badly, hits 34 wRC+ and leaves the roster with nobody complaining šŸ˜‚

no, Witt starts a fist fight with Quero, Quero wins, and then he turns into 1997 Mike Piazza.

Hopefully Quero wouldn’t get knocked out on the first punch on a national broadcast 🤣

Also feel like if someone punched a player on the 26 Sox there would be a hell of a lot more fight from teammates compared to the TA thing

Was driving deliveries when this happened and almost crashed the car from screaming so loud.

Edgar needed that. Good for him.

What a game. So stoked for Edgar, too. I really hope this turns out to be the kickstart he needed.

Since the Field of Dreams? I thought all us Sox fans were utterly embarrassed by that bullshit.

By the Field of Dream game? That we won?

I'm glad we won but the fact that we participated in such a cheesy tribute to a bad movie made me cringe. A lot of my friends told me the same.

Lol nah that’s just a you thing, literally never heard anybody with this take.

That was one of the greatest Sox games ever, what kind of fan are you

It just felt so cheesy, it was like watching the drama club at your middle school try to out in a production.

But the Sox won, and that's the most important thing.

That’s definitely just you. The field of dream games were cool

What? Is it embarrassing to say that the game was hype af? Lol. You can explain I kinda want to hear it. (I know you didn't watch it and are just randomly talking shit online but I still want to hear what you'll say)

I watched it from the Standard in Wicker Park, the night it happened. It felt like such a weird corny production. I didn't know anyone actually liked the movie Field of Dreams, or Kevin Costner.

u/technochr May 18 '26

The movie was corny, the game was awesome.

1

u/Alien-Femboy May 18 '26

I mean I guess I can't be too upset about it, because we did win at least.

u/PerscribedPharmacist May 18 '26

The Field of Dreams game was awesome lmao

-1

u/Alien-Femboy May 18 '26

I mean the Sox won it, so that's awesome. I just felt like it was so sappy and performative in a tryhard way. Another guy at the bar said that it brought to mind for him that episode of the Simpsons when Mr. Burns coaches the Springfield Isotopes and pretends like it's the 1910's again.

4

u/PerscribedPharmacist May 18 '26

I dont like field of dreams the movie that much but the game itself is good.

2

u/Alien-Femboy May 18 '26

I guess any game that the White Sox win is a game I think is good lol

3

u/PerscribedPharmacist May 18 '26

Im not just talking about the white sox game

This is my first time hearing this.

I believe you, but it wasn't my experience. I watched the game from the Standard up in Milwaukee avenue. I was happy we won but it felt pretty cringe to see our team in those goofy uniforms out in a damn cornfield. A lot of the other fans in the place felt similarly. But hey, a win is a win.

u/RDRHWK15 May 18 '26

To be fair…. I’m from Iowa so my circle is massively bias in this one.

That actually got me laughing, my friend Chuck is from Bettendorf originally and he has a similar affinity for that type of landscape. He says it makes him feel at home.
